Rolleston College growth
Selwyn’s population growth has
resulted in an increase in the number of
families moving into the area, bringing
a younger population and the need to
provide education to learners. Rolleston
College has commenced construction on
its second senior campus to cater to the
anticipated roll of over 3000 students in
the coming years.
The campus is located at the corner of
Springston Rolleston Road and Selwyn
Road. The construction site has broken
ground, and work has begun on stage one,
which involves clearing the ground to
make way for the science and technology
blocks and the gymnasium site. The
construction of the first stage is currently
underway, and the site is expected to
open in 2025, with completion scheduled
for 2028. The senior campus will cater to
students of different ages and stages and
provide specialist facilities along with
flexible timetables.
Meanwhile, the current campus,
which is located two kilometres away,
has undergone several upgrades to
accommodate the growing number of
students. Additional teaching spaces
have been added, the gym has been
extended, an all-weather playing court
cover has been installed, and general site
landscaping, storage, and parking facilities
have been constructed to meet the needs
of the growing student population.

Please note that week one will be a staggered start for all year levels. Each year
level will arrive to school on the nominated day and then return on 5th February
for a whole school day.

30th - 31st January -All Year 13 Camp - Orton Bradley Park
30th January - Year 10 Welcome Morning - 8:50am - 12:00pm
31st January - Year 11 Welcome Morning - 8:50am - 12:00pm
1st February - Year 12 Welcome Morning - 8:50am - 12:00pm
2nd February - Year 13 Welcome Morning - 8:50am - 12:00pm
- Year 9 Welcome Day- 8:50am - 3:00pm
- Year 9 Whanau Welcome BBQ - 4:00pm - 6:00pm
Week 2 - 5th February - Whanau Spirit Day (details closer to the time)
Waitangi Day - Public Holiday
7th February - All learners first full timetabled day
