Amuri A&P showagreat day out for all<br />
The 108th Amuri A&PShow, on<br />
Saturday, March 2, offers agreat day<br />
out for families and visitors, with<br />
plenty to see and do.<br />
The gates open from 8am at the<br />
Rotherham Reserve, 9Heaton St,<br />
Rotherham,and entry costs $10 for 18<br />
years and over, $5 for five to 17yearolds<br />
and preschoolersare free.<br />
The day begins with the stock horse,<br />
dog trials, wood chopping and horse<br />
and pony district classes.This year's<br />
copresidents Richie and Janine<br />
Ormond say this year there is agreat<br />
lineup of entertainment for the<br />
children.<br />
The entries on the morning of the<br />

At 10.45am in the featuretent<br />
Morgan Moore, who won the ANZCO<br />
Foods Butcher of the Year award last<br />
year, will tell her story while she<br />
demonstrates some of the best ways<br />
meat can be prepared.<br />
Just before lunch, the family lookalike<br />
competition for 0to2years and<br />
3to5years, will be held.<br />
This has become one of the signature<br />
events at the show, attracting very<br />
strong entries.<br />
The ProduceShed opens at noon to<br />
showcase all the entries in the<br />
vegetables, flowers, baking, art,<br />
photography, local school children’s<br />
art categories and much more.<br />
At noon in the ring, the lunchtime<br />
president’s events will start with a<br />
demonstration by amazing trick and<br />
stunt rider Sonia Duncan.<br />
The presentations of the Trade<br />
Exhibitor of the Year and the Amuri<br />
A&P Association Young Achievers<br />
Award will also be held in the ring.<br />
Acrowd favourite, the hilarious<br />
terrier race follows, where once dogs<br />
and owners are all lined up and ready<br />
to go, they will be set off by awave of<br />
the president’s wife’s hat.<br />
The McAlpines North Canterbury<br />
Pipe Band will lead the grand parade<br />
around the ring, showcasing the<br />
winners of horse and pony events,<br />
animalclass winners, new agricultural<br />
machinery and vehicles.<br />
Once the parade finishes, therewill<br />
be alolly scramble.<br />
Up next will be the sheep counting<br />
and steer riding competitions, which<br />
