KNITTING<br />
Enjoy a new hobby! Make wonderful items for<br />
yourself, your family, or your friends. Classes<br />
will be small for individualized help from the<br />
instructor. Register early so you don’t miss<br />
out! Required knitting materials will be printed on your<br />
registration form.<br />
Beginning Knitting (6 weeks)<br />

Discover how much fun it is to knit! No previous experience<br />
necessary. Gain basic skills – knit, purl, casting-on, binding<br />
<strong>of</strong>f, and finishing. Choose a knitting project after the first<br />
class. You will be amazed at all the things you can make after<br />
only 6 classes. Session “B” is a repeat <strong>of</strong> session A. Tuesday’s<br />
class will not meet on 9/23 or 10/14. Wednesday’s class will<br />
not meet on 9/24 or 10/15.<br />

try something new like knitting a pair <strong>of</strong> gloves, socks, baby<br />
sweater, or a lace shawl for yourself. Whatever you choose<br />
you can get expert help learning new techniques and being<br />
successful. Make sure you have your pattern and all the<br />
supplies needed! Session B is a repeat <strong>of</strong> session A. Class<br />

Learn to communicate in ASL conversationally in ten easy<br />
lessons. The mode <strong>of</strong> our learning will be to sign together<br />
and participate in conversation, FROM THE VERY FIRST<br />
MOMENT OF CLASS. This may seem overwhelming, but<br />
remember, sign language is drawing a picture <strong>of</strong> what you want<br />
to say using your hands, body and face. Come and join the fun!<br />

used Spanish words, important phrases and sentences to help<br />
you get around, watch video clips and read cartoons (out loud)<br />

An excellent opportunity to discover one <strong>of</strong> the “mother<br />
tongues” <strong>of</strong> English. By the end <strong>of</strong> the class, you will be<br />
able to translate easy passages from Latin and you will gain<br />
a good grounding in the grammar, syntax and vocabulary <strong>of</strong><br />
the English language. A command <strong>of</strong> Latin will also prepare<br />
you for learning the Romance languages more readily. A<br />
textbook is required, Wheelock’s Latin, by Frederic M.<br />

Experience the landscapes and history<br />
that inspired Montana authors.<br />
Trip Dates:<br />

Check-in: Friday 3-5 p.m., Kandahar Lodge in Whitefish,<br />
Montana. Return to Whitefish Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 23.<br />
Spend five days traveling by deluxe motor coach with<br />
fellow book lovers. Instructor Mac Swan will lead<br />
book discussions and help you to connect the literature<br />
to the landscape and people as you journey to each<br />
<strong>of</strong> your destinations. Enjoy fine dining and deluxe<br />
accommodations at Kandahar Lodge, East Glacier Lodge<br />
and Double Arrow Ranch in Seeley Lake.<br />
