This class welcomes the beginner, novice and “wannabe”<br />
artist! Practice your skills in a relaxed setting where you will<br />
gain self-confidence in your drawing ability. Be recognized<br />
as an individual with unique skills and talents. Originality<br />
is more important than conformity. Receive individualized<br />
instruction and guidance in developing a personal style <strong>of</strong><br />
expression. Each class will start with a lecture, demonstration<br />
and critique <strong>of</strong> work from the preceding week. Spend the<br />
remainder <strong>of</strong> your class drawing with one-on-one tutelage<br />
from your instructor.<br />

Create photographic art instead <strong>of</strong> snapshots. Learn to<br />
understand and apply the essential elements required to<br />
capture quality photographs using either digital or film.<br />
Course will cover film characteristics, methods to adjust<br />
exposure, depth <strong>of</strong> field, the Zone System, light meters, how<br />
to meter a scene, characteristics <strong>of</strong> digital cameras, basic rules<br />
<strong>of</strong> composition, filters and starting a portfolio.<br />

Introduction to Outdoor & Nature Photography<br />

Learn the secrets <strong>of</strong> successful outdoor and nature<br />
photography. Exposure, light,<br />
composition, field techniques and<br />
digital workflow are a few <strong>of</strong> the<br />
topics that will be covered. The<br />
class will cover both wildlife and<br />
landscape photography but the<br />
lessons learned can be applied to any<br />
photographic endeavor. The class is equally suited for both<br />
the film and digital shooter, amateur or aspiring pr<strong>of</strong>essional.<br />
Course includes five classroom sessions and one Saturday<br />
field trip.<br />

to shoot under field conditions. This class will expand on<br />
methods and techniques discussed in the introductory course.<br />
This class is limited to six people. Prerequisite: Introduction<br />
to Outdoor and Nature Photography class or instructor's<br />
approval. Instructor will contact you about the time to meet<br />
and group will travel in a college vehicle. Included in the cost<br />
listed is a $25 fee for transportation. Bring a sack lunch.<br />
