<strong>are</strong> keeping busy!<br />

July’s event was<br />

strictly good old<br />

summertime and<br />

red, white and blue<br />

were <strong>the</strong><br />

colors. The delicious lunch was<br />

provided by <strong>the</strong> ministry and here<br />

again was all American with hot dogs,<br />

burgers, tators salad, beans,<br />

watermelon and scrumptious<br />

strawberry, blue berry shortcake which<br />

was almost to<br />

pretty to cut! The<br />

Thirteenth Colony<br />

Singers, a<br />

barbershop quartet<br />

provided delightful<br />

entertainment. All<br />

79 folks in<br />

attendance<br />

were having a grand time!<br />

Next month is going to be a really big one!<br />

It is going to be Sonny Dixon Day on <strong>Tybee</strong>,<br />

according to Steve Lee it is going to be<br />

something special with <strong>are</strong>a officials on hand to<br />

honor Sonny’s work with senior citizens. Mayor<br />

Jason is expected to proclaim August 15 th as<br />

Sonny Dixon Day on <strong>Tybee</strong>!<br />

All seniors regardless of religious affiliation <strong>are</strong><br />

invited to participate in this fun loving ministry.<br />

There is no membership requirement and a lunch<br />

is served at every event. Sometimes it is covered<br />

dish and o<strong>the</strong>r times lunch is provided by <strong>the</strong><br />

ministry. There is no charge but small donations<br />

<strong>are</strong> accepted.<br />

Out and about recently at<br />

ano<strong>the</strong>r popular eatery for<br />

<strong>Tybee</strong> folks, Papas on<br />

Whitemarsh, I ran into Joey<br />

Burel. Joey was so excited<br />

that she made <strong>the</strong> <strong>Breeze</strong> last<br />

month! Well she’s made it again this month!<br />

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOEY!<br />

Mark your calander for <strong>the</strong> September TAPS<br />

production of “Night of Jan. 16 th ”to be performed<br />

September 8 th and 9 th at 8PM and on <strong>the</strong> 10 th and<br />

11 th at 7PM, in <strong>the</strong> Old School Cafeteria. Directed<br />

by <strong>Tybee</strong>’s Carol Ingham it is a 1930’ courtroom<br />

melodrama with an unusual twist: <strong>the</strong> jury is<br />

selected from each evening’s audience. Don’t<br />

know <strong>the</strong> cast but do know that Billy Doniel and<br />

Wanda Vitaglino auditioned.<br />

Our sincerest sympathy goes out to Linda Cox<br />

and her family on <strong>the</strong> loss of her husband Jay. Jay<br />

was a former State Senator, State Court Judge in
