are keeping busy!
July’s event was
strictly good old
summertime and
red, white and blue
were the
colors. The delicious lunch was
provided by the ministry and here
again was all American with hot dogs,
burgers, tators salad, beans,
watermelon and scrumptious
strawberry, blue berry shortcake which

was almost to
pretty to cut! The
Thirteenth Colony
Singers, a
barbershop quartet
provided delightful
entertainment. All
79 folks in
attendance
were having a grand time!
Next month is going to be a really big one!
It is going to be Sonny Dixon Day on Tybee,
according to Steve Lee it is going to be
something special with area officials on hand to
honor Sonny’s work with senior citizens. Mayor
Jason is expected to proclaim August 15 th as
Sonny Dixon Day on Tybee!
All seniors regardless of religious affiliation are
invited to participate in this fun loving ministry.
There is no membership requirement and a lunch
is served at every event. Sometimes it is covered
dish and other times lunch is provided by the
ministry. There is no charge but small donations
are accepted.
Out and about recently at
another popular eatery for
Tybee folks, Papas on
Whitemarsh, I ran into Joey
Burel. Joey was so excited
that she made the Breeze last
month! Well she’s made it again this month!

Mark your calander for the September TAPS
production of “Night of Jan. 16 th ”to be performed
September 8 th and 9 th at 8PM and on the 10 th and
11 th at 7PM, in the Old School Cafeteria. Directed
by Tybee’s Carol Ingham it is a 1930’ courtroom
melodrama with an unusual twist: the jury is
selected from each evening’s audience. Don’t
know the cast but do know that Billy Doniel and
Wanda Vitaglino auditioned.
Our sincerest sympathy goes out to Linda Cox
and her family on the loss of her husband Jay. Jay
