A view from the porch of the Lighthouse Inn – Yes there is life on the North end of the Island and we will try to let everyone know what is happening with this end of the island from “the porch” and from our wonderful guests. Big June... Wow – the island was packed in June and we were too. We, like everyone else in the hospitality business, were at maximum occupancy. Each year it appears that more people are discovering Tybee and all it has to offer. Harley Bride... Leo and Kevvi arrived on their Harley from Atlanta after an extended road-trip through Florida. They were married the next day at sunrise on the beach. They were wonderful and enjoyed the island and the beach for their entire stay. Email from Canada... Adam Freeman, Program Director for Star96 FM, Ontario, Canada, sent us a message that he was sorry about the death of our friend Kitty. He was a guest here and had met her on “the porch” two years ago and has subscribed to “The Breeze” since then to keep up with what was happening on Tybee. He will be back this year for his Tybee-fix. Comments: Where do we start? We enjoyed ourselves immensely. I believe there is a reason why we ended up on Tybee Island and the Lighthouse Inn. We felt like it was our home away from home and exactly what the doctor ordered. We enjoyed our afternoons on “the porch” and meeting the locals like Mayor Jason, his wife Jody and Maria Rose, Suni and John Weathers and of course hearing Stuart greet all the people passing with “afternoon.” These made our trip unforgettable. Leaving our stressful moments back in Chicago, I will think back to our restful and relaxing days on Tybee. We learned about Susie’s accomplishments with FOTT (Friends of the Tybee Theater) and learned of a new organization, of which we are members – “LGE” – Longest Guests Ever. We hope we didn’t overstay our welcome. Thanks for your hospitality and we feel you are part of our extended family. We truly will miss you both, the cats, Boomer and The Biscuits. Love, Ellian and Ilya, Glenview, IL (Formerly U.S.S.R) It is with deep regret that we return our keys to the Lighthouse Inn. You have mastered the art of turning a short contact into a feeling of warmth and friendship. We could not have chosen a more perfect setting for our wedding than that provided by the comfort of your inn and the tranquility of Tybee Island. Great companionship – Great food – Great house. Thank you, Leo and Kevvi, Atlanta, GA I have been coming to Tybee all of my life. Tybee itself is a treasure, but your Bed & Breakfast has given me a new set of memories to treasure. It was wonderful. Thank you for sharing your delicious breakfasts and super comfortable beds. Ken and Robin, Greenwood, SC We have also become members of the “LGE” club. As you can probably tell we absolutely loved our stay. Thank you very much for the lovely breakfasts, the wine on “the porch”, the (many) beers, but most of all your warmth and hospitality.
