The Outer Hebrides have a special
appeal which is hard to define. This
tour provides the ultimate ‘Island
Hopping’ experience with unspoilt
beauty, spectacular scenery,
impressive mountain ranges,
moorland and miles of golden
beaches. There is a chance to spot
whales, dolphins and sea eagles.
Sample the island lifestyle and see
for yourself the ancient history
spanning back 5,000 years.
We start with a local departure for
our journey north. Accommodation
has been reserved at a good class
hotel in the north of England or
Scotland for the night.
On day 2 we continue to the Isle of
Skye area. We pass Stirling and
then on into the Highlands, passing
mountain tops and sweeping
moorland before entering
Ballachulich. There is some free
time in Fort William before continuing
onwards through the Great Glen and
along the shoreline of Loch Duich
where we catch a glimpse of Eilean
Donan castle – one of Scotland’s
most photographed castles. Check
into our overnight hotel.
Day 3 - Today we start with a
magnificent drive across Skye before
catching the cruise from the Isle of
Skye to North Uist. In the afternoon

there will be a short tour of North
Uist, passing numerous tiny lochs
and beaches, before checking in to
the Dark Island Hotel, (or similar).
Day 4 - After a leisurely breakfast we
head north for the ferry crossing to
the largest of the Hebridean islands
– the Isle of Harris. A rugged
landscape of moorland, deep sea
lochs and mountains. Against this
backdrop is a proud history going
back to pre-historic times. We travel
to the north end of Lewis and the
capital – Stornoway. Our stay for the
next 2 nights is at the Caberfeidh
Hotel, (or similar).
Day 5 - Today we have a full day tour
of Lewis and Harris, with an Island
Guide, including the impressive
‘Standing Stones’ of Callanish,
(Scotland’s Stonehenge – but older).
Ancient thatched black houses, the
Broth at Caroloway and a visit to the
Tweed Mill.
Day 6 - Today we depart from the
Hebrides and cross to Ullapool and
head on to Inverness – the ‘capital of
the Highlands’ – for a short stop. We
start our journey south through the
picturesque Spey Valley to
Newtonmore for our last night stay.
Day 7 - Today we continue our
journey home, arriving back later on.

Glorious Orkneys
The Orkney Islands can be found in
the far north of Scotland. They are
an archipelago of over 70 islands.
The Orkneys offer unspoilt sea and
landscapes, bountiful wild life,
outstanding archaeology and an
opportunity to discover over 5,000
years of history. We have included
a full guided tour of the Orkneys,
visiting most of the main sights as
well as entry into the Castle of Mey –
the Queen Mother’s former
residence.
We start with a local departure for
our journey north. Accommodation
has been reserved at a carefully
selected hotel in Perth or Dunkeld for
your overnight stay in glorious
Perthshire. Typical of the hotels we
use is the Royal Dunkeld Hotel at
Dunkeld.
Day 2 - Today we travel north toward
the Islands. After breakfast we pass
Pitlochry, Spey Valley before
reaching Inverness around lunch
time, then continue our journey along
the north east coast. Arrive at our
hotel – the 2* Castletown Hotel by
Thurso, (or similar) for welcoming tea
/ coffee and cakes.
Day 3 - The morning is at leisure. In
the afternoon we tour along the coast

Kirkwall Basin
and visit the Queen Mother’s former
residence, Castle Mey. Spend most
of the afternoon enjoying the castle
and gardens along with its animal
centre and tea room.
Day 4 - The glorious Orkneys. Today
we catch the foot ferry crossing from
John O’Groats arriving in the Orkney
Islands where we meet our private
coach and experienced tour guide.
The highlights tour includes some of
the main sights on the Islands
including Skara Brae, the Churchill
Barriers, Scapa Flow, Ring of
Brodgar, the Standing Stones of
Stenness, the Italian Chapel and
Kirkwall with an opportunity to see
Kirkwall’s magnificent 12 th century
cathedral. Return in the late
afternoon and travel back to the hotel
in time for dinner.
Day 5 - Today we bid a fond farewell
to Thurso and travel south, taking in
the ever changing scenery, with
some free time in Inverness. Then
onwards along the Great Glen, Loch
Ness, Fort William, continuing south
through Glencoe, arriving at our hotel
in the Stirling area. Typical of the
hotels used is the 3* King Robert.
Day 6 - Continue our journey home,
arriving back later on.
