We will stay at the picture postcard
village of St Wolfgang – well known
for its pretty 15 th century church. The
ancient centre is a maze of cobbled
streets lined with beautifully frescoed
houses, shops and cafes with their
terraces boasting superb lake views.
Our hotel - the 4* Forsterhof - is
an old Harry Shaw favourite. It is
located approximately 10 minutes
walk from the centre of pretty St
Wolfgang. Features include a
lounge, bar and games room. All
rooms have private facilities. The
cuisine here is well recommended.
Your Itinerary:
Day 1 - Depart from your local area
and travel to Dover for the crossing
to the Continent. After clearing
Customs formalities we continue
through France / Germany to our
overnight hotel. Accommodation has
been arranged on a bed and
Continental breakfast basis in rooms
with private facilities.
Day 2 - After an early breakfast we
continue our journey to Austria
arriving at our hotel during the
evening. Accommodation has been
reserved for 5 nights on a dinner,
bed and breakfast basis at the 4*
Forsterhof in St Wolfgang.
Day 3 - Today we have included a
full day visit to Salzburg - steeped in
history and the birthplace of Mozart.
It is probably best known in recent
times as the city on which the ‘Sound
of Music’ was based.
Day 4 - Today we have an included
visit to the Salzkammergut Lakes.
You can see the crystal clear Lake
Mondsee and the church from the
wedding scene in the ‘Sound of
Music’. We then take you to
lakeside St Gilgen which boasts one
of the most attractive town squares
in the country.

Day 5 - Today we take you to some
of the world’s best-known beautiful
lakeside villages - Bad Ischel and
Halstatt. Don’t miss the chance to
visit the Café Zauner in the old spa
town of Bad Ischel and take some
beautiful photographs in the village
of Halstatt.
Day 6 - Day at leisure to explore and
enjoy the beautiful town of St
Wolfgang.
Day 7 - Today we bid a fond farewell
to Austria and commence our
journey home. We make our way to
our overnight hotel situated in France
/ Germany where accommodation is
reserved on a bed and Continental
breakfast basis.
Day 8 - Depart after breakfast and
travel to the French port for the short
sea crossing back to the UK.
Continue back to our local area.
