New starts in the sky
The Star Cruises/Norwegian
Cruise Line (NCL) ordered two
cruise liners in the 90,000 GT
class in 1998. These were both
passenger ships with an overall
length of 294 metres and a width
of 32.2 meters. The ships had the
maximum width still capable of
passing through the locks of the
Panama Canal. Norwegian Star
was delivered in 2001 and Norwegian
Dawn at the end of 2002.
The ships have a large number
of exclusive features. The Norwegian
Cruise Line uses them above
all to continue its “free-style
cruising” concept. This includes
among others unique entertained
catering facilities with
many different bars and restaurants
on board.
The garden villa suites are completely
unique: measuring
311 m², these suites exceed all
expectations. Living room, dining
room and three separate bedrooms,
each with a luxury
bathroom. The main bedroom
also has a complete bathroom
with Whirlpool and separate
shower. Each villa has its own
garden (with whirlpool and
sauna) and sundeck with breathtaking
panoramic views.
