The fast, slender ships are 169
metres long, 27.2 metres wide and
reach a speed of up to 20 knots.
The ships which are designed as
“open top ships” in the middle section
(without hatch covers) have a
rating of 15,600 GT and can take
up to 1,600 containers (1,600 TEU).
The special technical aspects of
these ships include among others
the maximum ice class (Finnish-
Swedish 1A Super) and the special
arrangement of the hatches. The
ships are designed as “open top
ships” in the middle section, and
equipped with hatch covers in
the front and side section. This
new concept permits the greatest
possible flexibility when using the
ships in feeder service, i.e. as suppliers
for the really big container
ships.
