Excellent manoeuvring<br />

These first <strong>ships</strong> for NCL have also<br />
been equipped with pod drive.<br />
The propellers are driven directly<br />
by electric motors accommodated<br />
in a pod under the body of<br />
the ship. The pod can be turned<br />
through 360°, offering good<br />
manoeuvring capabilities. The<br />
electric current is generated by<br />
diesel engines.<br />
In addition, the Norwegian Jewel<br />
and the Pride of Hawai‘i have<br />
been equipped with new bioreactors<br />
which fulfil the strictest<br />
environment regulations in the<br />
world when it comes to wastewater<br />
treatment.<br />
