On the basis of an agreement on<br />
know-how transfer and technical<br />
assistance, shipbuilders from the<br />
P.T. PAL shipyard in Surabaya<br />
came to Papenburg to design a<br />
passenger ship for 500 persons in<br />
joint cooperation with the engineers<br />
of MEYER WERFT. The first<br />
passenger ship type 500 was built<br />
in 1995 on the P.T. PAL shipyard<br />
in Indonesia with support from<br />
MEYER WERFT, and subsequently<br />
commissioned. Two other <strong>ships</strong><br />
were built in 1999. The material<br />
packages for these new <strong>ships</strong><br />
were also supplied by the MEYER<br />
WERFT.<br />
