20 lat po bitwie pod Fossaltą. warto zwiedzić stare Archiginnasio,
które mieści teatro Anatomico. trzeba zajrzeć do bazyliki
S. Stefano, kościołów S. Sepolcro i Crocifisso z nagrobkiem
św. Petroniusza i pięknego Palazzo Podesta.
Ale wróćmy do średniowiecznego centrum, które senne rano,
wieczorem staje się jednym z najweselszych miejsc we włoszech.
Studenci skończyli dzień nauki na Uniwersytecie Bolońskim i teraz
jest ich wszędzie pełno. Siedzą w ogródkach, piją wino, spotykają
się na randkach, krążą w portykach wąskich uliczek. Stare
miasto o czerwonych murach ożywia ich młodość.
Na koniec kilka praktycznych rad dla tych, którzy zechcą
odwiedzić Bolonię. Miejsca w hotelach lub schroniskach warto
zarezerwować wcześniej, bo stale są zatłoczone. restauracje im
bliżej Piazza Maggiore, tym są droższe, ale kilka przecznic dalej
zapłacimy nawet o 20-30% mniej. Z lotniska Marconi jedzie się
do centrum autobusem ok. 20 minut. Dworzec kolejowy jest przy
Porta Galleria, a autobusowy przy Piazza XX Settembre. Samochód
najlepiej zostawić na parkingu na peryferiach miasta.

Bologna has two architectural symbols – both of them
towers. the 88-metre torre Asinelli is straight, whereas the
torre Garisenda, erected in the 11th century, began to lean. In
the 14th century, the top part of the tower was taken down and
the tower is still standing. It’s not as famous as the one in Pisa,
but for the Bolognese, it’s an integral part of their city. In fact,
there were over 100 of these fortress towers in 16th century
Bologna, but only these two towers remain. Dante Aligheri mentions
torre Garisenda in the Divine Comedy.
For those who are only planning a short visit to the capital of
emilia-romagna, here’s a “cheat sheet” of the places not to be
missed. Start from the Basilica of San Petronio and its frescoes
painted by Giovanni da Modena and St Roch by Parmigianino.
then visit the Pinacoteca Nationale, which is home to rafael
Santi’s painting of St Cecilia. Next, make your way to Palazzo
re enzo, named after the King of Scicily, who was held captive
here for over 20 years after the Battle of Fossalta. It’s also worth
visiting the Anatomical theatre in the old part of Archiginnasio.

But let’s get back to the city centre dating back to the Middle
Ages, whose tranquil mornings transform into a party atmosphere
every evening. Students, having finished a day of lectures
at the University of Bologna, come here to relax, meet with
friends, drink wine and party. the old town, with its red walls
seems to encourage their youth.
On a practical note, it’s worth making reservations at hotels
and youth hostels alike, as they are always busy. the closer a
restaurant is to Piazza Maggiore, the more expensive it is. A few
side streets away, and your bill will be 20–30% lower. It takes 20
minutes to get to the city centre from Marconi Airport. The railway
station is at Porta Galleria, and the bus terminal is at Piazza
XX Settembre. It’s best to leave your car at a parking station on
the city’s outskirts.
