All these groups <strong>of</strong> symmetries, except the group <strong>of</strong> the dodecahedron–<br />

icosahedron, are soluble. The sphere whose centre co<strong>in</strong>cides with the<br />

centre <strong>of</strong> gravity <strong>of</strong> the solid is cut by the symmetry planes <strong>of</strong> the solid<br />

along a net <strong>of</strong> great circles. Lattices correspond<strong>in</strong>g to the stated solids<br />

are called the f<strong>in</strong>ite nets <strong>of</strong> great circles. The stereographic projections <strong>of</strong><br />

these f<strong>in</strong>ite nets are shown <strong>in</strong> Figures 129–133.<br />
