• Utilize and shift existing resources within the Police Department to combat ever<br />

changing crime trends. Obtain cooperation and assistance from allied agencies to<br />

include Sheriff's Department resources.<br />

Public Works<br />

• Work with Legal Council, the Financial and Administrative Services Department, and<br />

Southern California Edison to resolve the Zone B and C Street light issue<br />

• Coordinate the Capital Improvement Program priorities with the Executive Staff and<br />

the Economic/Community Development Team<br />

• Update the Development Impact Fee Program and include the Electric Utility<br />

• Implement the Rancho Belago Sign Program<br />

• Work with the City Manager and the Economic Development Team to define and<br />

prioritize the Eucalyptus Avenue connection to <strong>Moreno</strong> Beach Drive and identify<br />

necessary funding.<br />

• Work with RCTC and Caltrans to shift the remaining Federal Funding from Phase I of<br />

the Nason Street Overpass Project (ramps) to Phase II (ultimate bridge widening).<br />

• Implement the Council-approved Deficit Elimination Plan and continue to find ways to<br />

provide the best possible service<br />

• Identify further efficiencies in Special Districts to maximize services for the numerous<br />

CFD’s (Zones).<br />

• Continue working with the County Flood Control District, March JPA, and the March<br />

Air Reserve Base to resolve the flooding issues of the Cactus and Heacock Channels<br />

• Continue to develop and expand the <strong>Moreno</strong> <strong>Valley</strong> Electric Utility to ensure economic<br />

viability<br />

• Continue to participate as the Chair of the WRCOG Public Works Directors TAC<br />

Committee<br />

• Continue to participate in the Public Works Directors RCTC TAC<br />

• Continue to pursue grants and other infrastructure funding opportunities<br />

• Continue to find ways to streamline the land development process<br />

• Continue to bid and construct Capital Improvement Projects as approved by the City<br />

Council<br />

• Identify cost savings and revenue enhancement ideas<br />

• Explore ways to continue to provide street, sidewalk, and storm drain maintenance,<br />

graffiti abatement, and street sweeping services with diminished staff and budget<br />

• Continue working with Verizon to expand the FIOs system in the City of <strong>Moreno</strong><br />

<strong>Valley</strong><br />

• Prepare a municipal ordinance to comply with State requirements to implement<br />

mandatory commercial recycling by July 1, 2012<br />

• Expand the recycling education program to include all 4th grade classes citywide<br />

• Develop and implement a 5 year plan to street surface recycling projects<br />

• Bid the City Yard Admin Building project<br />

• Complete Phase I of the Transportation Management Center Project (Software)<br />
