Funeral services for Mrs. Skingley,
59, of Northville were held recently at
Riverside, Plymouth, with Dr. E. Page
of Plymouth officiating.
Mrs. Skingley, who died Sept. 23 in
Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills,
was a teacher for Plymouth-Canton
Community Schools and had lived in
Plymouth for 10 years before moving
to Northville. The family suggests that

Men nabbed in gas theft
Two Detroit men, treated for burns
at a local hospital, were arrested for
theft of gasoline from a plane at Mettetal
Airport.
Canton police believe a fire erupted
when the two used a cigarette lighter
to see while siphoning gas early Saturday.
Arrested for a misdemeanor larceny
charge were Jeffrey Finch of Ulster,
and Fred Woodby of Winston. Both are
18.
They were released on $100 cash
bond and ordered to appear in 35th District
Court within 20 days, said Canton
police Lt. Dennis Joker.

Gorman. The revenue-sharing program
is expected to be dismantled after
1983, added Gorman.
In the past, those funds have been
used for large capital expenditures,
such as purchase of land, building improvements,
new police cars, etc.
"They (board) realized they should do
something soon," said Gorman. "They
have to start planning for it."

Firefighters found a charred boot, a
plastic container and a plane with a
slightly scorched wing, said Fire Chief
Mel Paulun.
Small ground fires were quickly extinguished,
said Paulun. Canton police
notified local hospitals to look for
someone who might come in for emergency
treatment of burns.
A short time later, Finch and Woodby
came into St. Mary Hospital in Livonia,
said Joker. They were treated for
burns on their legs, then released to police.
Penalty for the larceny charge is 90
days in jail or $500 fine, or both.
