The Classic Film Theatre folks attempt to answer that question by presenting eight new, independently made films in the next four weeks at the Punch & Judy. The CFT describes its fare as "the collective product of a highly diverse group of talented and dedicated regional filmmakers" and explains that one earmark of all the films is a low, low budget. John Sayles' "Secaucus 7" was made on $60,000, and went on to win numerous awards and critical praise. It's the story of the weekend reunion of seven friends — political activists in their student years — who are now approaching middle age.
