GROUPS I & II<br />
The member NFs of Groups I and II met three times in 2009:<br />
On 10 March in Deauville (FRA), on 8 September in Antwerp<br />
(BEL) and on 16 November in Copenhagen (DEN).<br />
Deauville, 10 March 2009<br />
The focus of this meeting was on the “Clean Sport” issue.<br />
The day before, a working group had already discussed the<br />
relevant topics. The attending NFs unanimously agreed to<br />
their results on<br />
- Stewarding;<br />
- Medication Control Programme (MCP);<br />
- Course Design;<br />
- Legal Issues;<br />
- Communication and Education.<br />
Further topics were<br />
- Nations Cup Series;<br />
- European Matters;<br />
- Future of the Equestrian Sport in the Olympic Games;<br />
- Endurance.<br />
Alex McLin and David Holmes attended the meeting; 26<br />
nations, plus representatives of the athletes and organisers<br />
took part.<br />
Antwerp, 8 September 2009<br />
Central points of this meeting were:<br />
- Position concerning the <strong>FEI</strong> proposal for modifi cation of<br />
structure, statutes and internal regulations;<br />
- Clean Sport;<br />
- European Continental Structure;<br />
- Creation of a European Equestrian Forum (EEF).<br />
Alex McLin and Liza Lazarus attended the meeting; 23 nations<br />
plus representatives of the athletes and organisers took part.<br />

Copenhagen, 16 November 2009<br />
The term of the Chairman of Group I, Cesare Croce (ITA),<br />
ended and Christian Paillot (FRA) was unanimously elected<br />
by Group I as his successor.<br />
The topics were<br />
- Common Position on <strong>FEI</strong> Structure;<br />
- Late Payment Interest;<br />
- Clean Sport;<br />
- Free Weekend (CSIO4* and 5*);<br />
- Competitions not affi liated with <strong>FEI</strong>;<br />
- Nationality of Competitors.<br />
The Copenhagen meeting was overshadowed by the<br />
discussions about the consequences of the Hong Kong<br />
occurrences, the proposals of the Ethics Panel and the<br />
decision of the Bureau regarding this topic. The NFs present<br />
from Groups I and II expressed their unanimous confi dence in<br />
the German offi cials in general and in the Chair of Group II in<br />
particular. <strong>FEI</strong> accepted their decision.<br />
<strong>FEI</strong> President HRH Princess Haya and <strong>FEI</strong> Secretary General<br />
Alex McLin attended the Groups I and II meeting temporarily;<br />
31 NFs plus representatives of the athletes and organisers<br />
took part.<br />
GROUP III<br />
- Organised Endurance events for the fi rst time;<br />
- ran fi rst <strong>FEI</strong> Course for Coaches Level 1 in Kyrgyzstan and<br />
Level 2 in Russia. Both were very successful;<br />
- held fi rst competitions in Caucasian Jumping League (two<br />
CS12* events in Georgia and Azerbaijan);<br />
- held Jumping competition (CSI3*) in Siberia (Khanty-<br />
Mansiysk) for the fi rst time;<br />
- began preparations for the 2010 World Equestrian Games<br />
(European NFs) and the 2010 Asian Games (Asian NFs).
