framework of the <strong>FEI</strong> Eventing Development Programme.<br />

A course for Offi cials was held alongside the competition.<br />

More activities are scheduled for next year.<br />

Lithuania was represented by an Individual rider at the HSBC<br />

<strong>FEI</strong> World Cup Eventing Final in Poland and at the HSBC<br />

<strong>FEI</strong> European Championships. A technical visit was made in<br />

November 2009 for new <strong>FEI</strong> 1* and 2* events in 2010.<br />

Belarus hosted its fi rst ever HSBC <strong>FEI</strong> World Cup Eventing<br />

qualifi er in Minsk this year. Moreover, a team participated<br />

in the <strong>FEI</strong> European Championships for Young Riders in<br />

Germany fi nishing 5 th .<br />

Estonia was unable to run the events scheduled this year due<br />

to lack of local sponsorship. They have been postponed to<br />

2010.<br />

Eventing Development Programme – Group IX<br />

In 2009, South Africa held its fi rst ever CCI*** and as a<br />

result, qualifi ed a team for the Alltech <strong>FEI</strong> World Equestrian<br />

Games in 2010. Namibia has shown a real interest in<br />

running horse trials again. A course designer from South<br />

Africa went to Namibia to give a seminar to the Eventing<br />

community in view of developing the discipline. The NAM<br />

NF ran a lower level event in October and hope to put on<br />

a CCI* in 2010. Contacts have been made with the Kenyan<br />

Federation and it is planned to run a course build/design<br />

seminar in 2010. Swaziland ran their fi rst <strong>FEI</strong> class this year.<br />
