Switzerland to offer the kind of luxury help
that lies beyond the tourism board’s com-
petencies. “Premium Switzerland gives us
an option for people who want more than
just a five-star hotel,” explains Urs Eber-
hard, deputy director of Switzerland
Tourism. “The service offers a personal,
time-intensive guidance that allows clients
to get everything from one source.”
Premium Switzerland is a service of the
company Mehrwert. The idea for Mehrwert
was born after Peter Zombori
and partners founded Swixmed to assist
foreigners who wanted to come to Switzerland
for medical treatment. As the
partners organized medical care, they saw
them needs to be easy for the client.”
Several private banks worked with Mehrwert
to provide luxury experiences for their
clients, but the service was not well-known
to private individuals. Premium Switzer-
land developed the idea of the web portal
together with Tourism Switzerland in order
to make it more accessible to individuals.
About 98 percent of Premium Switzerland’s
customers make their initial inquiry
through email. Once the request has been
processed, the customer is contacted by
an appropriate expert, and interactions
follow via telephone. There are seven
people at work in the Mehrwert offices in
Zurich, and the company also works with
52 outside experts.
Premium Switzerland breaks its services
down into several main categories: events,
