London Musical Double Bill 2 DAYS £155 Fri 10 – Sat 11 February 2012 Itinerary Day 1: From your local joining point we make our way to the London Docklands Hilton. After checking in we transfer you to the evening performance of Jersey Boys. After the show the coach will be waiting to take you back to the hotel. Day 2: After a leisurely breakfast we load the luggage onto the coach. We then take you into central London for free time and sightseeing. We then enjoy the matinee performance of Dream Boats and Petticoats. After the show the coach will be waiting outside the theatre, or as near as possible, and commence the journey home. HILtoN HotEL ★★★★ London Docklands On the south bank of the River Thames with stunning views across to Canary Wharf, the Hilton London Docklands Hotel is superbly located for our short break to the capital. From one of the 365 beautifully appointed bedrooms combined with an 18th century sailing barque resting in one of London’s only dry docks. It is easy to forget that you are only minutes away from the City of London. The hotel boasts swimming pool, sauna, spa, steam room and a fully equipped gym. Lincoln mixes two thousand years of history, from the cobbled streets to its modern shopping centre. Day 2: This morning we visit E Oldroyd & Sons Ltd for our guided tour of the famous Rhubarb Sheds. On arrival we learn about the ancient history of rhubarb, its culinary and medicinal uses. Then it's into the forcing sheds, where you're sure to be spellbound by the spectacle before you - rhubarb grown in the dark and harvested by candlelight. Stand quietly, listen and you'll hear the rhubarb growing! This afternoon we make our way into Wakefield to enjoy the food festival. You’ll find cookery demonstrations with celebrity chefs in the marquee, and the Yorkshire Food & Drink Market in the Cathedral Precinct and Bull Ring. Day 3: After a leisurely breakfast we take the short journey into the centre of Leeds to pay a visit to the armouries. 3000 years of history is brought to life through 8000 spectacular exhibits, housed in an award-winning building situated in the Clarence Dock Basin. Just a short walk away is the famous department store Harvey Nichols. We then make our way back to Norfolk and your local drop off point. This museum provides a unique opportunity to travel 140 metres underground down one of Britain's oldest working mines. Situated in a rural setting, it offers an unusual combination of exciting experiences whilst providing a genuine insight into the hard-working lives of miners through the ages. Day 2: Spend today exploring the historic walled city of York. Take the opportunity to visit the National Railway Museum, the Jorvik Centre, walk the city walls or explore the narrow streets and alleyways around the Shambles. No visit to York is complete without seeing the magnificent York Minster. A guided coach tour will be available this morning at extra cost.
