Itinerary<br />
Day 1: Following your home pickup,<br />
we make our way to Tewkesbury.<br />
Day 2: Today we discover the long<br />
standing connections between<br />
Worcester and Sir Edward Elgar. We<br />
visit The Edward Elgar Birthplace<br />
museum which includes morning<br />
refreshments. We then included a 45<br />
minute walking tour of Worcester<br />
highlighting buildings of historical<br />
interest. After free time to explore we<br />
visit Worcester Cathedral for a music<br />
themed guided tour which highlights<br />
Elgar’s connections with the Cathedral<br />
and the city.<br />
Day 3: This morning we make the<br />
short journey into the centre of<br />
Gloucester with a chance to look<br />
around the historic city centre with its<br />
magnificent cathedral and historic<br />
docks. After lunch we make our way<br />
back to Tewkesbury for an afternoon<br />
at leisure.<br />
Day 4: This morning we visit the<br />
spectacular 5-acre Abbey House<br />
gardens, situated in the heart of<br />
Malmesbury’s historic town centre.<br />
Featured on BBC Gardeners World,<br />
they are recommended by Alan<br />
Titchmarsh. ‘The Naked Gardeners’,<br />
Barbara and Ian Pollard have<br />
painstakingly and lovingly brought this<br />
meticulous, internationally renowned,<br />
privately owned garden back to life.<br />
We then head to the old market town<br />
of Cirencester, recognized as the<br />
capital of the Cotswolds. Packed full<br />
of history it was the second largest<br />
Roman City in Britain.<br />
Day 5: After breakfast we make our<br />
back to Norfolk with suitable stops en<br />
route where our door to door service<br />
will be waiting to take you home.<br />

Monday 13 – Friday 17 August 2012<br />
Itinerary<br />
Day 1: Following your home pickup<br />
we make our way to Harrogate and<br />
the Old Swan Hotel.<br />
Day 2: Our day begins with an<br />
‘Emmerdale’ drive, taking us through<br />
the beautiful countryside featured in<br />
the opening credits of the programme.<br />
We make our way to the tiny village of<br />
Esholt – ‘Beckindale’ and then<br />
‘Emmerdale’ for many years. We have<br />
arranged for coffee at the famous<br />
‘Woolpack’. From here we head for<br />
the former spa town of Ilkley,<br />
sheltered by Ilkley Moor and the Cow<br />
and Calf Rocks. Here we visit Ilkley<br />
Toy Museum and recall many<br />
childhood memories. We stay here for<br />
lunch, you may fancy tea & cakes at<br />
Betty’s. This afternoon we visit the<br />
National Trust owned East Riddlesden<br />
Hall, an intimate manor house set in<br />
mature grounds in the Aire Valley.<br />
Day 3: After a leisurely breakfast we<br />
head for historic York. We have the<br />
day to explore this fascinating city<br />
with lots of attractions to keep you<br />
busy, such as the National Railway<br />
Museum and Jorvik Centre. Visit the<br />
City Walls, the little streets and<br />

alleyways in the centre, not forgetting<br />
the magnificent Minster. Late<br />
afternoon we return to the hotel<br />
Day 4: The day is free for you to<br />
explore the town of Harrogate. Enjoy a<br />
lovely stroll through beautiful Valley<br />
Gardens, explore the delightful Victoria<br />
arcades for some retail therapy. Have<br />
a relaxing lunch in one of the many<br />
restaurants, cafes and bars. We have<br />
an early evening dinner before<br />
tonight’s outing to Ripon. First we<br />
have a behind the scenes guided tour<br />
of the beautiful and awesome Ripon<br />
Cathedral. in the market square we<br />
witness one of the oldest English<br />
traditions which has been kept alive<br />
for hundreds of years without a break.<br />
At 9.00 p.m. the Ripon Hornblower<br />
sets the night watch from each corner<br />
of the obelisk in the centre of the<br />
square to reassure citizens that all is<br />
well. Afterwards we return to<br />
Harrogate<br />
Day 5: After breakfast we make our<br />
way back to Norfolk with suitable<br />
stops en route where our door to door<br />
service will be waiting to take you<br />
home.<br />

The 3 star Old Swan Hotel stands in the centre of the lovely town of<br />
Harrogate, in Yorkshire, and is famed as being Agatha Christie’s hiding<br />
place during her disappearance in 1926. Bedrooms are stylishly<br />
furnished and the public areas include the Library restaurant, the<br />
Wedgwood Room and the lounge bar. All bedrooms are en suite and<br />
have satellite television telephone, hairdryer and tea & coffee facilities.<br />
