Itinerary
Day 1: Following your home pickup,
we make our way to Tewkesbury.
Day 2: Today we discover the long
standing connections between
Worcester and Sir Edward Elgar. We
visit The Edward Elgar Birthplace
museum which includes morning
refreshments. We then included a 45
minute walking tour of Worcester
highlighting buildings of historical
interest. After free time to explore we
visit Worcester Cathedral for a music
themed guided tour which highlights
Elgar’s connections with the Cathedral
and the city.
Day 3: This morning we make the
short journey into the centre of
Gloucester with a chance to look
around the historic city centre with its
magnificent cathedral and historic
docks. After lunch we make our way
back to Tewkesbury for an afternoon
at leisure.
Day 4: This morning we visit the
spectacular 5-acre Abbey House
gardens, situated in the heart of
Malmesbury’s historic town centre.
Featured on BBC Gardeners World,
they are recommended by Alan
Titchmarsh. ‘The Naked Gardeners’,
Barbara and Ian Pollard have
painstakingly and lovingly brought this
meticulous, internationally renowned,
privately owned garden back to life.
We then head to the old market town
of Cirencester, recognized as the
capital of the Cotswolds. Packed full
of history it was the second largest
Roman City in Britain.
Day 5: After breakfast we make our
back to Norfolk with suitable stops en
route where our door to door service
will be waiting to take you home.

Itinerary
Day 1: Following your home pickup
we make our way to Harrogate and
the Old Swan Hotel.
Day 2: Our day begins with an
‘Emmerdale’ drive, taking us through
the beautiful countryside featured in
the opening credits of the programme.
We make our way to the tiny village of
Esholt – ‘Beckindale’ and then
‘Emmerdale’ for many years. We have
arranged for coffee at the famous
‘Woolpack’. From here we head for
the former spa town of Ilkley,
sheltered by Ilkley Moor and the Cow
and Calf Rocks. Here we visit Ilkley
Toy Museum and recall many
childhood memories. We stay here for
lunch, you may fancy tea & cakes at
Betty’s. This afternoon we visit the
National Trust owned East Riddlesden
Hall, an intimate manor house set in
mature grounds in the Aire Valley.
Day 3: After a leisurely breakfast we
head for historic York. We have the
day to explore this fascinating city
with lots of attractions to keep you
busy, such as the National Railway
Museum and Jorvik Centre. Visit the
City Walls, the little streets and

alleyways in the centre, not forgetting
the magnificent Minster. Late
afternoon we return to the hotel
Day 4: The day is free for you to
explore the town of Harrogate. Enjoy a
lovely stroll through beautiful Valley
Gardens, explore the delightful Victoria
arcades for some retail therapy. Have
a relaxing lunch in one of the many
restaurants, cafes and bars. We have
an early evening dinner before
tonight’s outing to Ripon. First we
have a behind the scenes guided tour
of the beautiful and awesome Ripon
Cathedral. in the market square we
witness one of the oldest English
traditions which has been kept alive
for hundreds of years without a break.
At 9.00 p.m. the Ripon Hornblower
sets the night watch from each corner
of the obelisk in the centre of the
square to reassure citizens that all is
well. Afterwards we return to
Harrogate
Day 5: After breakfast we make our
way back to Norfolk with suitable
stops en route where our door to door
service will be waiting to take you
home.

The 3 star Old Swan Hotel stands in the centre of the lovely town of
Harrogate, in Yorkshire, and is famed as being Agatha Christie’s hiding
place during her disappearance in 1926. Bedrooms are stylishly
furnished and the public areas include the Library restaurant, the
Wedgwood Room and the lounge bar. All bedrooms are en suite and
have satellite television telephone, hairdryer and tea & coffee facilities.
The hotel has a lift.
