Dr. Glenda Payas
Dr. Glenda Payas maintains a
general dentistry practice in Tulsa,
Oklahoma. She is a charter
member of the Academy of Laser
Dentistry (ALD), and holds
Advanced Proficiency in CO 2 and
Er:YAG laser wavelengths. In 2007,
Dr. Payas received her Mastership
from the Academy of General
Dentistry and is a clinical
instructor for the Kois Center, in
Seattle, Washington. She currently
serves as Vice President on the
ALD Executive Committee after
having completed a 3-year term of
board service in 2009. She has held
the positions of Secretary and
Treasurer and is currently the
Chair of the ALD Awards and
Student Scholarship Committees as
well as the upcoming Chair of the
2013 Annual Conference. She was
awarded the “2011 Top 25 Women
in Dentistry” by Dental Products
Report. She was one of the first
dentists in the United States to use
a laser, starting in 1991. Dr. Payas

Dr. Scott Benjamin
Dr. Scott Benjamin is a graduate
of the State University of New York
(SUNY) Buffalo, School of Dental
Medicine and has been in full-time
private practice in rural upstate
New York for more than 30 years.
Dr. Benjamin is an internationally
recognized authority on oral cancer
and a leader in computerized
dental technology and dental
lasers. He is a visiting professor at
the SUNY at Buffalo School of
Dental Medicine and is a research
associate at the New York
University (NYU) College of
Dentistry. He is an active member
of American Dental Association
Standards Committee on Dental
Informatics (ADA-SCDI), the
chairman of several separate
Working Groups, and was
appointed to the Task Force on the
National Healthcare Information
Infrastructure (NHII). Dr.
Benjamin is a past president of the
Sixth District Dental Society of the
New York State Dental Association,
has served on the ALD Board of
Directors and as the 2010 ALD
Chairman of General and Scientific
Sessions Committee for the Miami
Conference. Currently he holds an
Executive Committee position as
Treasurer. Dr. Benjamin may be

Dr. John J. Graeber
N O M I N AT I O N S
Dr. John J. Graeber maintains a
comprehensive, full-time general
practice in East Hanover, New
Jersey. He has been awarded
Mastership in the Academy of
General Dentistry and the
Academy of Laser Dentistry. He
holds Advanced Proficiency in the
Nd:YAG laser wavelength as well
as Educator status and is a
Recognized Course Provider. Dr.
Graeber is a visiting lecturer in
lasers at the University of
Medicine and Dentistry of New
Jersey, New York University
(NYU), and the University of
Minnesota Dental Schools. He
utilizes Nd:YAG, diodes, and
erbium laser wavelengths in his
practice. He has been teaching the
Standard Proficiency course since
1996 and has served two terms on
the ALD Board of Directors. In
2011 he holds the position as
Chairman of General and Scientific
Sessions for the 2012 Scottsdale
Conference along with the
Executive Committee position as
