Dr. Gabi Kesler
Dr. Gabi Kesler is in private
general practice in Tel Aviv, Israel.
He is a lecturer in the Department
of Oral Rehabilitation at the Tel
Aviv University School of Dental
Medicine and is the coordinator of
the graduate and postgraduate
dental laser program. He has
Advanced Proficiency in CO 2 and
Er:YAG laser wavelengths, is an
ALD Recognized Course Provider,
and has ALD Educator status. He
received the Leon Goldman Award
for clinical excellence and has
published research papers on bone
healing. He established the Israeli
Chapter of the Academy of Laser
Dentistry, served as its first president
in 2005, and currently serves
as ALD’s Chairman of
International Relations. Previously
Dr. Kesler completed two 3-year
terms of leadership service on the
ALD Board of Directors. He is
nominated for the position of
Secretary 2012-13. Dr. Kesler

The offices of President, Dr. Art
Levy, and Immediate Past
President, Dr. Ana Triliouris, are
automatically filled, and are not
part of the voting process.
Dr. Art Levy automatically
assumes the role of President in
2012 and Dr. Ana Triliouris
moves into the position of
Immediate Past President.

Dr. Arthur Levy
Dr. Arthur Levy maintains a
private practice in Chester, New
Jersey, and is a charter member of
the ALD. He holds Advanced
Proficiency in the Nd:YAG laser
wavelength. He has served two 3year
terms on the ALD Board of
Directors and has been active in
numerous committees including
International Relations,
Membership, Finance,
Nominations, and Awards since the
beginning of the Academy in 1993.

Dr. Ana Maria Triliouris
Dr. Ana Maria Triliouris maintains
a private practice in Merrick,
New York, and is a charter member
of the ALD. She is among the very
few dentists that started using
lasers in 1990. She was the first
editor of ALD’s initial publication,
Wavelengths. She is an active
member of the ADA and its components
as well as the Academy of
General Dentistry and the
American Association of Women
Dentists. She is past Chair of the
Dr. Eugene Seidner Student
Scholarship Committee, past editor
of the newsletter Lightwaves, and
has held various other leadership
positions in the ALD. Dr. Triliouris

Following a successful election
during the General Membership
Meeting, these nominated members
will join the ALD Board of
Directors for a 3-year term starting
March 31, 2012.
Dr. Charles Hoopingarner
Dr. Charles Hoopingarner
attended the University of Texas
Health Science Center at Houston
(UTHSCH) Dental Branch, graduating
with a DDS in 1973. He has
maintained a private practice in
Houston, Texas since 1973. He was
an adjunct associate professor in
anatomical sciences at UTHSCH
Dental Branch for 11 years.
Currently he is adjunct clinical
faculty in the Restorative Dentistry
Department at UTHSCH and has
been a clinical instructor at the Las
Vegas Institute for Advanced
Dental Studies since 1997, teaching
advanced anterior aesthetics and
comprehensive aesthetic reconstruction
and laser dentistry. Dr.
Hoopingarner is a member of the
Board of Directors of the ALD and
has used dental lasers of various
wavelengths as integral parts of his
patient care delivery system for the
last 11 years. He is the ALD
Regulatory Affairs Committee
