Approaching ALD Prime

As we approach the end of our 19th
year as the premier, unbiased
dental laser education entity, I
would like to invite all our
members, as well as all of the
nonmember dentists that are just
discovering dental lasers, to join us
in Scottsdale, Arizona for our
Annual Conference and Exhibition.
The dates are March 29 to 31, 2012
and I look forward to meeting all
the attendees and to enjoy learning
from the excellent presentations.
I also want to share with you
our most recent news. We have a
new Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Stuart
Coleton. We welcome him with
open arms and look forward to
working with him for many years
to come. Also, in October the ALD’s
Board of Directors met at the
Radisson Fort McDowell, the venue
for our 2012 Annual Conference.
We are excited about the ALD’s
new direction that includes
creating educational materials
more easily accessible to all
members and creating a speakers
bureau and course options to be
offered to dental organizations and
to our members as well. We had a
Leadership Development Day that
was very successful. We worked
very hard and still had time to
have fun. The ADA-ALD Laser
Pavilion at the ADA Meeting in Las
Vegas last October was a great
success thanks to the hard work of
our Executive Director and one of
our past presidents, Dr. Don
Coluzzi, who again presented
dental lasers to all ADA members
that wished to be informed about
this technology. We are planning
even more joint programs for next
year’s ADA meeting. Our Web site
has been revamped and we are
striving to improve it regularly to
make it easier to navigate by all of
our members. The 2012 Annual
Conference Program is posted on
the Web site for all to see what a
great learning experience we will
have in Scottsdale.

Community (including Dr. Anil
Chandra, Dr. A.P. Tikku, and Dr.
S.S. Ojha) were present. I was privileged
to have been invited by the
organizing group and enjoyed their
great hospitality as I represented
the Academy of Laser Dentistry. We
returned with 25 new members
and 10 registrations to our Annual
Conference in Scottsdale. We look
forward to welcoming the Indian
contingency at the Radisson Resort
this coming March.

celebrating our 20th Anniversary
in 2013 with the ALD at its prime.
Let’s continue moving forward and
