Campus Safety.<br />
C. Sanctions:<br />
<strong>AUK</strong> may impose a range of penalties on users who violate the policies regard<strong>in</strong>g<br />
the usage of <strong>University</strong> comput<strong>in</strong>g resources. For example, <strong>AUK</strong> may suspend<br />
computer and network privileges of an <strong>in</strong>dividual for reasons relat<strong>in</strong>g to the safety<br />
and wellbe<strong>in</strong>g of other members of the campus community, or relat<strong>in</strong>g to the<br />
preservation and <strong>in</strong>tegrity of <strong>University</strong> property. Access will be restored when<br />
positive conditions can be reasonably assured, unless access is to rema<strong>in</strong> suspended<br />
as a result of formal action imposed through the normal discipl<strong>in</strong>ary processes of the<br />
<strong>University</strong>. Appeals will follow the normal <strong>AUK</strong> Student Conduct Process.<br />
6.3.2 <strong>Academic</strong> Probation/<strong>Academic</strong> Suspension<br />
Conditions for <strong>Academic</strong> Probation/Suspension: All students at <strong>AUK</strong> are expected<br />
to meet or exceed certa<strong>in</strong> m<strong>in</strong>imal academic standards. Failure to do so will result <strong>in</strong><br />
be<strong>in</strong>g placed on academic probation or suspension. All such actions are taken by<br />
<strong>Academic</strong> Services, under the direction of the Director of <strong>Academic</strong> Affairs, at the<br />
end of each quarter; once the action is made, it may be changed or revoked only by<br />
the Director of <strong>Academic</strong> Affairs. The Grade Po<strong>in</strong>t Average (GPA) standards that<br />
must be met are as follows:<br />
Program (Concentration) Quarterly GPA = grade average of all courses taken <strong>in</strong> a<br />
term that are applicable to a student’s degree requirements.<br />
Cumulative GPA = grade average of all course work taken as an undergraduate.<br />
<strong>Academic</strong> Probation: A student will be placed on probation if his or her program<br />
(Concentration) quarterly grade po<strong>in</strong>t average falls below 2.0 (a C average) or if his<br />
or her cumulative grade po<strong>in</strong>t average falls below 2.0. To be removed from<br />
probation, the student must raise both averages to at least a 2.0.<br />
Students on a second probation will be put on academic contracts by their academic<br />
advisors. While on probation contracts, students are not allowed to take more than<br />
12 credit hours.<br />
<strong>Academic</strong> Suspension:<br />
1. Any student who is on probation and who is not removed from probation <strong>in</strong> the<br />
two succeed<strong>in</strong>g periods of study (quarters) <strong>in</strong> which credit is earned, will be<br />
suspended.<br />
