Glenfi ddich’s fi rst-ever 19 year old single malt Scotch whisky,
matured in oak casks previously used to age fi ne Madeira wine,
is now available in South Africa. Glenfi ddich Age of Discovery
Madeira Cask Finish celebrates the pioneering spirit of
Portuguese explorers in the 15th Century.
Pioneering the sea routes from Europe to Thailand
and Malaysia in search for the sea passage to India,
Portuguese explorers established the city of Macao,
in China, gave Taiwan the name ilha Formosa
(Beautiful Island) and discovered the islands of
Porto Santo and Madeira, revolutionising our
understanding of the world.
Glenfiddich Malt Master, Brian Kinsman
commented: “The pioneering spirit of these
explorers has stayed with us across centuries
and we are delighted to be launching a range of
whiskies which celebrate and remember the Age of
Discovery.
“In 1886, our founder, William Grant set out on
his very own journey to fulfil a lifelong ambition.
With the help of his family he built The Glenfiddich
Distillery by hand and, nearly 125 years later, this
pioneering spirit remains.

wonderful to release Glenfiddich ‘Age of Discovery’

Madeira Cask Finish boasts striking
packaging, providing it with instant
on-shelf standout. The black glass
bottle is embellished with a red
cartouche compass and encased in
an outer display box, adorned with
creative illustrations, mapping out
the travels of Portuguese explorers.
