are more than 5,000 whisky la<strong>be</strong>ls in the world, <strong>be</strong>ing selected is no<br />
coincidence.<br />
Bain’s Cape Mountain Whisky is crafted by the dynamic duo, m<strong>as</strong>ter<br />
distiller Andy Watts and distiller Jeff Green, at The James Sedgwick<br />
Distillery in Wellington.. W<strong>it</strong>h a distinctive South African t<strong>as</strong>te profile<br />
the whisky is created from the finest local grain. It is made in a style<br />
that allows the maximum interaction <strong>be</strong>twen c<strong>as</strong>k and whisky by<br />
<strong>be</strong>ing double-matured - first for three years in specially selected<br />
oak c<strong>as</strong>ks previously used for bourbon, and then re-vatted for a<br />
further two years, also in ex-bourbon c<strong>as</strong>ks.<br />
The result is an exceptional whisky offering toffee, floral<br />
and vanilla arom<strong>as</strong> softened by sweet, spicy undertones<br />
that produce a warm mouth-feel and a smooth finish.<br />
The James Sedgwick Distillery, which dates back to<br />
1886, is s<strong>it</strong>uated near the foothills of the Bain’s Kloof P<strong>as</strong>s<br />
outside Wellington, in the heart of the Boland. The whisky<br />
pays tribute to Andrew Geddes Bain, the pioneering p<strong>as</strong>s<br />
builder who planned and built the p<strong>as</strong>s which since 1853<br />
connects Wellington to the interior.<br />
Bain’s Cape Mountain Whisky is available from leading<br />
liquor outlets and retails for about R200 per 750ml bottle.<br />
