MARCoS AYERZA played with the Pumas for the first time in the Test Match against the Springboks, held in Vélez
Sarsfield stadium in Buenos Aires in 2004. Prior to this match, Marcos had represented the UAR in the U21 National
Team in 2003 World Cup (England) and 2004 World Cup (Scotland). When he was playing at junior level, Marcos
used to play in the second row position. In June 2006, he played the two matches on the Welsh tour to Argentina
and also participated in the 2007 World Cup in France. He scored his first try against Japan in 2005 and, since
then, he has become a reliable option to perform as prop. After his rugby initiation in Newman, Marcos joined the
Leicester Tigers, where he reached the 2007 European Cup finals and was Champion in the Premiership in 2007
and 2009. In 2011, he played his second Rugby World, in New Zealand.
