BALLROOM - WEST COAST (WC) SWING
Come and get started in WC Swing. Make the
first step to becoming a ‘Westie’. WC swing is a
dance unto its own. Developed in Hollywood
in the ‘30’s, WC Swing is what is called a slot
dance. It’s characterized by a distinctive elastic
look that results from its basic extensioncompression
technique of partner connection,
and is danced primarily in a slotted area on
the dance floor. This is a very versatile dance
where you can dance to country, pop or R&B.

Each hour will involve warm-ups, stretches,
dance drills & short routines, and a pleasant
cool down. Workouts may be tailored for any
physical limitations. Learn a lot or just enjoy a

Prerequisite: Beginning Bellydance or instructor
permission. Take your bellydancing to the
next level! If you’re comfortable with basic
Middle Eastern dance moves, expand your
skill by learning more complex routines and
combinations, and exploring improvisational
bellydance, veil work & other dance props,
floor work, finger cymbals and common
dance rhythms to bring out your inner dancer.
Information on local resources, dance origins
& history, and dance opportunities will also be
available. A new routine is taught each session.
