SENIOR BOOK CLUB<br />

Join us every Friday from 3:30-5:00pm for<br />

English Tea or coffee as we discuss different<br />

books. T<strong>here</strong> is a $1.00 drop-in fee.<br />

BEGINNING LINE DANCING<br />

Come on down and get in on the excitement.<br />

This drop-in class teaches the basics of line<br />

dancing. Don’t miss your chance to get some<br />

exercise and meet some new people. Everyone<br />

is welcome. Please wear comfortable shoes.<br />

T<strong>here</strong> is a $1.00 drop in fee per class. Mondays<br />

from 1- 2pm, Thursdays from 1:30-2:30pm.<br />

MEMOIR WRITING<br />

Become inspired and supported as you discover<br />

the wealth of material you have in your own<br />

life and memories. Find meaning from your<br />

experiences, and capture it in writing. Drop-in<br />

Tuesdays from 10am to 12pm. T<strong>here</strong> is a $2.00<br />

drop-in fee per class attended.<br />

SENIORS DOING ART<br />

Join us on Friday mornings from 9:00-11:00am<br />

for art with seniors. You’ll draw, sketch, and<br />

paint all kinds of projects. Art instruction is<br />

provided. This is a drop-in class with a whole<br />

new adventure every week. T<strong>here</strong> is a $1.50<br />

drop-in fee per class.<br />

OPEN PICKLEBALL FOR SENIORS<br />

Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, & Fridays<br />

8:30am-12:00pm. From 8:30-10:30am, the<br />

courts will be reserved for senior play only.<br />

Senior play is defined as participants 50 years<br />

of age and older. Players must be at least 50<br />

years of age in order to play between the hours<br />

of 8:30-10:30a.m. From 10:30am -12:00pm, the<br />

courts will be available for open play. Seniors<br />

and all others are welcome to play during<br />

the open play hours of 10:30am-12:00pm.<br />

This exciting paddle sport is a mixture of<br />

tennis, badminton, and ping pong. It is played<br />

on a court the same size as a conventional<br />

badminton doubles court with a three foot<br />

high net. It is easy to learn and equipment is<br />

provided. I f you have never played the game,<br />

a nice friendly group of senior participants will<br />

teach you. T<strong>here</strong> is a $2 drop-in fee per session<br />

or you may pay the trimester fee.<br />

BRIDGE FOR BEGINNERS<br />

If you’ve never played Bridge before and would<br />

like to learn, this is the class for you. Taught by<br />

an experienced tournament Bridge player who<br />

loves the game. Wednesdays, 1:00-4:00pm at<br />

<strong>Federal</strong> <strong>Way</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>Center</strong>. T<strong>here</strong> is a $2.00<br />

drop-in fee per day to play or you may buy a<br />

punch card. Inquire at the front desk.<br />

BRIDGE PLAYER’S GROUP<br />

On Monday afternoons from 1:00-4:00pm<br />

at the <strong>Federal</strong> <strong>Way</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>Center</strong>, join<br />

other bridge players for relaxed play at all skill<br />

levels. An experienced<br />

tournament player and<br />

organizer will be <strong>here</strong> to<br />

teach and facilitate play.<br />

play. T<strong>here</strong> is a $2.00<br />

drop-in fee per day to<br />

play or you may buy a<br />

Seniors 50+ Programs<br />

Nutrition<br />

HOT LUNCH PROGRAM<br />

Mondays and Fridays at 12pm. Please stop<br />

in and join us for lunch. Our chef is great and<br />

always welcoming. If you haven’t had lunch<br />

with us for a while, come and give us another<br />

try! For participants over 62 years of age t<strong>here</strong><br />

is a $3.00 suggested donation for all lunches<br />

served. For all other participants under 62 years<br />

of age a charge of $5.75 is required.<br />

KOREAN ELDER LUNCH PROGRAM<br />

Traditional Korean meals are served every<br />

Tuesday and Thursday at 12pm. The suggested<br />

donation is $3.00. In addition to the lunch<br />

program, the Evergreen Club provides<br />

supportive services to Korean seniors to help<br />

sustain them in the community. English as a<br />

second language, social work, socialization<br />

activities, and more.<br />

MEALS ON WHEELS PROGRAM<br />

Frozen home-delivered meals are available for<br />

persons ages 60 and older who are unable to<br />

leave their home or have difficulty shopping<br />

or preparing nutritious meals. The suggested<br />

donation per meal is $3.00. No eligible<br />

participant will be denied meals if unable<br />

to make a contribution. Liquid nutritional<br />

supplements such as Ensure and Ensure Plus<br />

are also available through the program. Call<br />

Special Services<br />

FINANCIAL ADVICE<br />

Claire Bailey, Certified Financial Planner is<br />

available for seniors by appointment on the<br />

first Wednesday of each month from 1-3pm.<br />

Ms. Bailey provides FREE one-on-one private<br />

advice on taxes, money management, financial<br />

planning, trust insurance, and pension. Please<br />

call 253-835-6925 for an appointment.<br />

VOLUNTEER TRANSPORTATION<br />

Qualified volunteer drivers provide rides for<br />

seniors to medical appointments and other<br />

essential services. Call at least 7 days in advance.<br />

T<strong>here</strong> is no charge for transportation service.<br />

This program is offered by Senior Services of<br />

Seattle/King County. Please call 206-448-5740<br />

for more information.<br />

SENIOR RIGHTS ASSISTANCE<br />

The second Tuesday of each month a volunteer<br />

is available from Senior Rights Assistance, which<br />

is sponsored by Senior Services of King County,<br />

to meet on a one to one basis with individuals<br />

and provide information about advance<br />

planning documents, including Wills, Durable<br />

Powers of Attorney for Financial Matters, Powers<br />

of Attorney for Health Care, and Advance<br />

Directives to Physicians. Please call 253-835-<br />
