ATLANTIC CANADA FRANK
HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA
ISSUE 578
FEBRUARY 16, 2010
As President & C.E.O. of Frankcadian
Bus Lines Ltd., the region’s foremost
inter-city coach service, I am, of course,
proud of our growing commitment to our
many customers.
As the leader in scheduled passenger
transportation we refuse to rest on our
laurels, and so in an effort to serve you
better I am pleased to announce that as of
April 1, 2010, departures from Sydney to
Halifax will no longer take Highway 104,
or the Trans-Canada 105.
Passengers will now board at the Two
Rivers Wildlife Park, the coach will then
depart for Halifax via the Mira River,
Middle River, Margaree River, North
River, Salmon River and Baddeck River,
with stops to be made in Sand Lake,
Grand Lake, the Bras d’Or Lake, and
Lake Ainslie.
Please note also, that in order to
maintain consumer confidence,
Frankcadian Bus Lines Ltd. has relaxed
our baggage restrictions to allow you to
carry on your: hip-waders; inflatable
dinghy; diving mask; snorkel; and/or a
small kayak; or thermal insulated dry suit,
all of which can readily be stored in the
easy-to-open spacious luggage compartment
above your seat. As well, water skis
can also be brought on board as long as
they are, for the safety of all passengers,
tucked securely under your seat.
Remember, during your voyage, a
Frankcadian bus in not just your home —
it’s your personal flotation device!
Sincerely,
Sincerely,
MEMORIES
OF OLD
HALIFAX
For those of you who rarely make the trip to Downtown
Halifax (and really, why would you bother?), I
thought you might appreciate a rare glimpse of two
downtown landmarks. The former Zive Familyowned
apartment building has already disappeared
from the corner of Hollis and Morris to make way
for Louie Lawen’s new condo complex, while the
storied Herald building on Argyle, owned by Joe
Ramia, is in the process of being taken down.
The Grand Old Lady of Argyle Street, in her final days.
