The Royal National Rose Society is the world’s oldest specialist plant society. It
maintains the world famous Gardens of the Rose at its St. Albans, UK home, including the
RNRS International Trial Ground.
The newly designed and replanted Gardens of the Rose opened in June 2007 to
considerable acclaim. They will of course remain a work in progress for some time to come.
To date there are approximately 6500 plants in the garden.
The Society publishes a journal for members - The Rose - and handbooks on growing
and selecting roses. It is also associated with several National Rose Shows each year.
Members may call on a free advisory service on all rose problems. Members of the
Society particularly interested in heritage roses may join its Historic Roses Group.
