Hansen, General Manager Date: December 8, 2010 Subject: Approval of Resolution No. 10-12-666 – Disposal of Surplus District Property For Action Fiscal Impact Funds Budgeted Information Only Cost Estimate: $ Minimal – Nonworking Equipment Requested Action: Recommend approval of Resolution No. 10-12-666 to declare the attached list of District property as surplus to District needs and authorize the General Manager to dispose of the property in accordance w ith Resolution No. 11-04-488. Discussion: Memorandum If approved, Resolution No. 10-12-666 w ould declare the attached list of property (Exhibit “ A” ) as surplus and authorize the General Manager to dispose of the property in accordance w ith the procedures outlined in Resolution No. 11-04-488 (attached). Those procedures require the General Manager to describe the property, determine their dollar value, and select the method of disposal w hich w ill generate the best return for the District, including, giving first priority to our Member Agencies to purchase the property, public auction, public sale, or selected bidders. Property not sold or w ithout resale value may be disposed of in the most efficient manner, including donations to member agencies, charity, local government entities, non-profit agencies w hose activities are related to health, education, and/or the public w elfare.
RESOLUTION NO. 10-12-666 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE THREE VALLEYS MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT DECLARING CERTAIN PERSONAL PROPERTY TO BE SURPLUS TO THE DISTRICT AND ORDERING THE SALE THEREOF WHEREAS, the District’s Board of Directors has adopted Resolution No. 11-04-488 attached which outlines the procedures for the disposal of surplus personal property; and WHEREAS, the District owns certain surplus personal property as described in Exhibit “A” attached; and WHEREAS, the surplus property is obsolete, unneeded and generally in nonworking condition; and WHEREAS, the General Manager has determined the value of the surplus property after contacting dealers, vendors or other businesses which buy used property or take such items as tradein. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the District’s Board of Directors does hereby find and resolve as follows: 1. The personal property attached hereto as Exhibit “A” is declared surplus to the District’s needs. 2. The General Manager may dispose of the surplus property in accordance with procedures set forth in Resolution No. 11-04-488. ATTEST: PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 8 th day of December, 2010.
