20.9.3.5 Male-Female Enrollment Ratio Waiver. Effective Date: Aug 01, 2008<br />

The Administration Cabinet, by a two-thirds majority of its members present and voting, may<br />

grant waivers to the four-sport sponsorship requirement for men or women if the institution<br />

provides data to demonstrate that the male-female enrollment ratio prohibits the offering of the<br />

required number of sports for one or the other. The institution shall submit its request for a<br />

waiver to the <strong>NCAA</strong> president, and it shall be received in the national office not later than<br />

October 1. Any request received after that date shall be postmarked not later than September<br />

22. The request shall include pertinent information supporting the institution's request and shall<br />

be signed by the institution's chancellor or president. (Revised: 5/8/06, 11/1/07 effective 8/1/08)<br />

data to demonstrate that the male-female enrollment ratio prohibits the offering of the required<br />

number of sports for one or the other. The institution shall submit its request for a waiver to the<br />

<strong>NCAA</strong> president, and it shall be received in the national office not later than October 1. Any<br />

request received after that date shall be postmarked not later than September 22. The request<br />

shall include pertinent information supporting the institution's request and shall be signed by the<br />

20.9.3.6 Three-Season Sport Waiver. Effective Date: Aug 01, 2008<br />

The Administration Cabinet, by a two-thirds majority of its members present and voting, may<br />

waive the requirement that an active member shall conduct at least one sport in every sport<br />

season if the institution is precluded by its academic calendar and climatic conditions from<br />

conducting a sport in a particular season. (Revised: 5/8/06, 11/1/07 effective 8/1/08)<br />

20.9.3.6 Three-Season Sport Waiver.<br />

The Management Council, by a two-thirds majority of its members present and voting, may<br />

waive the requirement that an active member shall conduct at least one sport in every sport<br />

season if the institution is precluded by its academic calendar and climatic conditions from<br />

conducting a sport in a particular season. (Revised: 5/8/06)<br />

20.9.4 Sports Sponsorship.<br />

A member institution shall sponsor in a minimum of: (Revised: 1/10/91 effective 9/1/94)<br />

(a) Seven varsity intercollegiate sports, including at least two team sports, based on the minimum<br />

requirements of Bylaw 20.9.4.3 and involving all-male teams or mixed teams of males and<br />

females, and seven varsity intercollegiate sports (of which a maximum of two emerging sports<br />

per Bylaw 20.02.5 may be used), including at least two team sports, based on the minimum<br />

requirements of Bylaw 20.9.4.3 and involving all-female teams; or (Revised: 1/10/91 effective<br />
