Pioneering the use of <strong>biodiesel</strong> in India has presented many challenges on the raw materials, processing,<br />
handling and storage in various climatic conditions. We had the opportunity to study the shelf life and<br />
stability related issued.<br />
We are of the view that <strong>biodiesel</strong> has proven its applicability and has found very quick acceptability. With<br />
the current level of Jatropha plantation being undertaken in India, there will be assured supply of raw<br />
material. Major facilities are being envisaged for processing the vegetable oils and almost all the refiners<br />
are drawing up blue prints to have maximum presence in the blended fuel market. This will ensure India<br />
as a global leader in the processing and exporting <strong>biodiesel</strong> blended fuels.
