I Scanalatura ad U (U-groove)
Una delle più importanti caratteristiche delle candele DENSO è l'esclusivo elettrodo di massa con scanalatura ad U.
Questo elettrodo offre:
• Migliori prestazioni di accensione
La scanalatura ad U ha due bordi affilati invece di una singola superficie piana. Analogamente al lampo, la scintilla
scocca nel punto più alto e più vicino.
• Maggiore risparmio di carburante
La scanalatura ad U consente di bruciare miscele più magre, senza mancate accensioni.
• Funzionamento più regolare del motore
La scintilla ed il fronte di fiamma non sono confinati tra gli elettrodi e quindi generano un fronte più esteso.
• Emissioni ridotte
La scanalatura ad U fornisce lo stesso risultato che si avrebbe con un intervallo interelettrodico più grande di quello normale.
La maggior parte dell'usura è localizzata sull'elettrodo centrale a causa della direzione della scintilla. Per la fabbricazione dell'elettrodo centrale si usa quindi una
lega nichel-cromo con anima in rame di elevata qualità. La scanalatura ad U è ricavata sull'elettrodo di massa, dove l'usura è minima ed i conseguenti vantaggi
perdurano per tutta la vita utile. La scanalatura ad U è caratteristica della maggior parte delle candele DENSO, essendo utilizzata in oltre 300 tipi.

U-groove
One of the most important features of DENSO spark plugs is the unique U-groove ground electrode.
The U-groove provides:
• improved ignition performance
The U-groove has two sharp edges instead of just one flat surface. Like lightning, the spark
always strikes the highest and nearest point.
• better fuel economy
The U-groove can ignite leaner mixtures, avoiding misfiring.
• smoother running of the engine
The spark and flamefront are not squashed between the electrodes, and therefore create a bigger flamefront.
• reduced emissions
The U-groove has the effect of a bigger spark gap, while maintaining the standard gap.
When a spark plug is used, most of the wear takes place on the centre electrode. This is due to the direction of the spark. The centre electrode is therefore
made from a highquality copper-cored nickel-chrome alloy. The U-groove is located on the ground electrode because this is the place that is least affected by
wear, ensuring that the benefits of the U-groove last the entire lifetime of the spark plug. The U-groove is a standard feature of most DENSO spark plugs. There
are over 300 spark plug types with U-groove.

U-Rile
Eines der wesentlichsten Merkmale der DENSO-Zündkerzen ist die einzigartige U-Rillen-Masseelektrode.
Die U-Rille sorgt für:
• verbesserte Zündung
Die U-Rille hat zwei scharfe Ränder statt nur einer glatten Oberfläche. Wie beim Blitz springt der Funke immer auf den
höchsten und nächstgelegenen Punkt über.
• vorteilhafteren Kraftstoffverbrauch
Die U-Rille kann eine magere Mischung leichter zünden, wodurch Fehlzündungen vermieden werden.
• ruhigeren Motorlauf
Funken und Flammenfront stoßen zwischen den Elektroden nicht zusammen, so daß eine größere Flammenfront entsteht.
• reduzierte Emissionen
Die U-Rille hat den Effekt eines größeren Elektrodenabstandes, obwohl der Standardabstand erhalten bleibt.
Bei der Zündkerze gibt es den größten Verschleiß an der Mittelelektrode. Das ist auf die Richtung des Funkens zurückzuführen. Deshalb besteht die
Mittelelektrode aus einer hochwertigen Nickel-Chrom-Legierung mit Kupferkern. Die U-Rille befindet sich auf der Masseelektrode, weil diese Stelle dem
geringsten Verschleiß unterliegt, wodurch gewährleistet ist, daß die Vorteile der U-Rille sich über die ganze Lebensdauer der Zündkerze erstrecken. Die U-Rille
ist ein standardmäßiges Merkmal der meisten DENSOZündkerzen. Es gibt mehr als 300 Zündkerzentypen mit U-Rille.
