2. Description
This is the fourth intensive English course designed
to lead students of Profesorado en Ingles para Tercer
Ciclo de Educación Basica y Educación Media from an
intermediate mid language level up to an intermediate
high competence level. This course comprises more
complex language functions that will take students
up to the desired language competence level. These
functions will be dealt with in four units regarding daily
affairs, socializing, mass media and traveling. Students
will be engaged in different language activities by using
spoken and written discourse at an essay level and using
communicatively oriented methods and techniques.
3. Objectives
A. General Objective:
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
Use various language tools to communicate in English at
an Intermediate high language level.
B. Specific Objectives:
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
• Sustain understanding over longer stretches
of connected discourse on a number of topics
pertaining to different times and places.
• Handle successfully most uncomplicated
communicative tasks and social situations.
• Read consistently with full understanding simple
connected texts dealing with basic personal and
social needs about which the reader has personal
interest and/or knowledge.
• Meet most practical writing needs and limited social
demands.
