2.2 Infraestructura de Red: Los brazos de la AUI
La Autopista de la Información proporciona conectividad
a todas las localidades de la Provincia de San
Luis, con más de veinte habitantes. Para ello utiliza
una red IP, que es la más grande red gubernamental
de la República Argentina.
La red IP de banda ancha, de la AUI, es de tecnología
híbrida ya que utiliza enlaces de fibra óptica, radio
enlaces y enlaces satelitales. Esta red está compuesta
por un poderoso backbone principal en forma de
anillo y una capa de agregación, y última milla, con
topología estrella. También, se dispone en la ciudad
capital y Villa Mercedes de una infraestructura de red
metropolitana de fibra óptica que se conectan al backbone
principal.
2.2.1 Backbone IP: La Columna vertebral
El backbone de la red IP, es decir la columna vertebral
de la red, está formado por un conjunto de nodos y
enlaces que recorren las principales ciudades de San
Luis (ver figura 5).

The Information Highway provides connectivity to all localities that
have more than twenty inhabitants in the whole Province of San Luis.
To achieve this, an IP net is used, the largest governmental net in Argentina.
The AUI’s broadband IP net uses hybrid technology since it uses fiber
optic links, radio links and satellite links. This network is composed by
a powerful main backbone, shaped as a ring and an aggregation layer,
last mile with star topology. There is also, in the capital city and in
the city of Villa Mercedes, a metropolitan fiber optic net infrastructure
that connects to the main backbone.
