Body
Cleanse with a mild soap. Do not forget the folds of the skin. Avoid using oils and
powders. Some peeling is expected the first few days of life. Baby lotion may be helpful
for dry or peeling skin.
Genitales
Cambie los pañales sucios tan pronto como sea posible. Limpie con agua y jabón suave
después de que el bebé orine o defeque. Las cremas como Desitin, A & D o Vaseline

Change soiled diaper as soon as possible. Cleanse with water and mild soap after each
bowel and bladder movement. Ointments such as Desitin, A & D or Vaseline may be

Circumcised Infants
See “Circumcision Care.” Give sponge baths until the circumcision is healed.

Wash with every diaper change. Do not pull back the foreskin. Wash only the surface.
