Información del ayuntamiento de Puerto Morelos establece
que en los próximos dos años el municipio pasará de tener una
oferta de 5,400 cuartos hoteleros a un total de 8,000. Con una
inversión de 52 millones de dólares, ha dado inicio la edificación
del hotel Crown Paradise, el cual será inaugurado a mediados de
2019. Contará con 184 habitaciones y un centro de convenciones
con capacidad para 600 personas. También está prevista la
construcción del hotel Ventus Marina El Cid de 204 habitaciones,
así como el hotel Margarita Villa Karisma de 357 cuartos. Además,
se proyecta la edificación de
al menos 2,000 unidades
residenciales en terrenos
próximos a la carretera Cancún-
Playa del Carmen.

INVESTMENT IN PUERTO MORELOS GROWS
The city council of Puerto Morelos reported that in the next two years the
municipality will go from having a supply of 5,400 hotel rooms to a total of
8,000. The construction of the Crown Paradise hotel, representing a 52 million
dollars investment, is already underway and the premises will be inaugurated by
mid-2019. The hotel will have 184 rooms and a convention center with capacity
for 600 people. The construction of the Ventus Marina El Cid hotel, 204 rooms,
is also projected, as is that of the Margarita Villa Karisma hotel, with 357 rooms.
Also planned is the construction of at least 2,000 residential units in land lots
near the Cancun—Playa del Carmen highway.
En noviembre de este año, la cadena española
Palladium Hotel Group abrirá dos complejos
hoteleros ubicados a 20 minutos de Cancún:
el Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres Resort &
Spa con más de 600 habitaciones, el cual está
orientado a familias y donde habrá un área
exclusiva llamada Family Selection, y el TRS
Coral Hotel, con un lujoso concepto de sólo
adultos. Este último dispondrá de 473 habitaciones, cada una de ellas con balcón
o terraza amueblada, hidromasajes y magníficas vistas a la idílica playa de arena
blanca de Costa Mujeres.

NEW AIR ROUTES IN CHETUMAL
The Ministry of Tourism (Sedetur) is currently negotiating for
regional flights with the national airline TAR, as well as with Aeromar,
seeking to open new air routes to Chetumal that could become
operational by the end of this year. On the other hand, VivaAerobus
will resume operations in the south of the state with its Chetumal—
Monterrey route. These actions will further boost air connectivity in
the region, same that has already shown an upward trend in the
influx of passengers. In the first two months of 2018, the Chetumal
International Airport registered 51,066 passengers, that figure
representing a 45.3% increase against the same period in 2017.

In November this
year, Palladium Hotel
Group from Spain
will open two hotel
complexes located 20
minutes from Cancun:
the Grand Palladium
Costa Mujeres Resort
& Spa, with more than 600 rooms, geared to families
and with an exclusive area called Family Selection;
and the TRS Coral Hotel, with a luxurious, adults-only
concept. The latter will have 473 rooms, each with
a furnished balcony or terrace, whirlpool baths and
magnificent views to the idyllic white sand beach of
Costa Mujeres.
La Secretaría de Turismo (Sedetur) negocia
actualmente con la aerolínea TAR para vuelos
regionales, así como con Aeromar, buscando abrir
nuevas rutas aéreas a Chetumal que podrían entrar
en funcionamiento para fin de año. Por otro lado,
VivaAerobus retomará sus operaciones en el sur
del estado, con la ruta Chetumal–
Monterrey. Estas acciones
impulsarán aún más la conectividad
aérea en la región, que ha mostrado
una tendencia al alza en la afluencia
de pasajeros. En el primer bimestre
de 2018, el Aeropuerto Internacional
de Chetumal registró una
movilización de 51,066 pasajeros,
lo que representa un incremento
de 45.3% con respecto al mismo
periodo del 2017.
