My Grandma María Antonia
My grandmother’s name is María Antonia Ruiz Zambrano. She grew up on San Francisco
street until she got married when she was 22 years old.
She only had a cardboard doll, but sometimes she went out to the street to play. She played
skipping rope with her friends. My grandmother was very comfortable at school, but she studied
little time because she had to help at home. When she was 12 years old, in her free time, she went to
her friend’s house to watch TV.
The food was plentiful, since her family and her had a house in the countryside where there
were olives, cows, and chickens. They ate chickpeas many times and they also killed pigs to eat pork.
