Refer to the information given by the
manufacturer of the used ski binding
testing device.
This function test should verify that the
release torque ranges (mentioned in Nm)
are within the limits of the tolerances and
it should be noted on a workshop form.
For the upward release at the heel please
add 15mm to the measured boot sole
length because of the actual pivot point.
Make sure that the ski is fixed at the heel
area to have no bending of the ski while
measuring.
Caution: The release value selection and
adjustment has to be done very accurately
to care for the skier’s safety. As a
DYNAFIT certified technician, you are
required to keep accurate and complete
records of all work performed on any
SILVRETTA binding.
Release value tolerances
A release value tolerance of ±15% is valid
according to ISO 11088. This equals a
value in the DYNAFIT adjustment charge
(see page 40 to 43) in an area one line
up and down of the chosen release value.
See example B in table.
• If the measured value is in this area,
the system can receive clearance.
Limiting value for new adjustment
A release value limit of ±30% is valid for
new adjustments according to ISO 11
088. This equals a value in the DYNAFIT
adjustment chart (see page…..) in an area
two line up and down of the chosen
release value. See example C in table.
Important: If the measured value is in
the area for a new adjustment (value
C), the system may not be delivered.
• Inspect again the consistence of ski
boot and binding and verify the
adjustment on the binding.
• Re-test the binding.
18
If the measured value is still in the
area for a new adjustment,
• Correct the adjustment of the binding
until the measured value is within
the release value tolerance
(value B).
If the measured value is still outside of
the area for a new adjustment (value
C) no re-adjustment can be done.
• Change boot or binding or both.
Example
Code 311- >331 Mz My
330mm mm
J 4 3,5 43 165 C min
K 5 4,5 50 194 B min
L 6 5,5 58 229 Release
value
M 7 6,5 67 271 B max
N 8,5 8 78 320 C max
Important: After the final inspection the
function unit ski / ski binding / ski
boot has to be given to the customer
together with the workshop form and
the user instructions.
Indicate the left and right ski with a
sticker (left/right indicator).
4. Trouble shooting
After you have set each toe and heel
piece to the correct release value setting,
perform the following test:
Be sure that the binding, ski and boot
meet the visual inspection criteria.
Important: All used bindings should be
cleaned before performing any inspections.
Do not lubricate the gliding AFD
or toe and heel cups.
