pour soigner sa femme, Gary a dû vendre sa voiture et il l’a
vendue 3 millions de dollars, ce qui, si on pense combien
il l’a payée était une bonne somme mais Gary a utilisé une
grande partie pour soigner sa femme et pour lui off rir une
vie plus longue. Sa femme a vécu deux années de plus grâce
à l’argent de la voiture. Mais Gary a toujours eu l’envie de
rechercher cette voiture, de pouvoir réavoir cette voiture
mais désormais elle coûtait trop cher et c’était impossible, il
n’avait plus d’argent pour l’acheter alors Gary est venu à Stile
Bertone et il a demandé à M. Bertone s’ils voulaient recréer
la B.A.T.. Selon la philosophie de Bertone, ce n’était vraiment
pas une chose à faire car une grande carrosserie italienne ne
peut pas faire une réplique, non? Ils doivent faire quelque
chose de nouveaux, ils doivent faire quelque chose de
moderne, ils doivent faire quelque chose de très poussé.
Alors moi, avec le temps, en tant que directeur j’ai pensé
«Mais c’est bien pour ça que je suis arrivé à faire ce métier,
pour travailler avec de grandes voitures historiques et avoir
l’opportunité de faire un peu de ce mélange». Alors avec la
B.A.T. 11, nous avons tenté de faire le bon mélange entre
le rappel historique et un signe très moderne. Aujourd’hui
elle est aux États-Unis et la semaine prochaine elle va à Las
Vegas, à Los Angeles, au salon. Cette histoire me porte à
mon prochain projet, à mon prochain travail. Après le Stile
Bertone je me suis retrouvé dans un autre projet et un autre
travail particulièrement intéressant et aussi particulièrement
lié à l’avenir de l’automobile mais avec l’inspiration du
passé. Je dois dire que mon intérêt aujourd’hui se porte vers
l’importance de la marque ; mais la marque arrive avec une
voiture très forte, avec un caractère très prononcé et tout
styliste qui travaille sur le projet ou sur un constructeur doit
tenter de relever cette image, ce visage de la voiture. Au
contraire aujourd’hui je travaille sur une voiture électrique,
l’ha pagata non era male però Gary ovviamente ha usato
parecchi di questi soldi per curare sua moglie e per darle
una vita più lunga. Però Gary ha sempre avuto la voglia di
ricreare questa macchina, poterla riavere solo che adesso
non era più possibile riaverla perché la macchina costava
troppo, non aveva più i soldi per comprarla; Gary è venuto
in Stile Bertone e ha chiesto al Sig. Bertone se volevano
ricreare la Bart. Per la fi losofi a di Bertone non è una cosa
da fare perché una grande carrozzeria italiana non può
fare la replica. Devono fare qualcosa di nuovo, dovevano
fare qualcosa di moderno. Con il tempo come direttore ho
pensato “Però è proprio per quello che sono arrivato a fare
questo mestiere, per lavorare con grandi macchine storiche e
avere l’opportunità di fare un po’questo mix”. Con la Bart 11
abbiamo cercato di fare il giusto mix tra il richiamo storico e
un segno molto moderno. Questa macchina oggi è negli Stati
Uniti e la prossima settimana va a Los Angeles, al salone.
Questo mi porta al mio prossimo progetto, al mio prossimo
lavoro. Dopo lo Stile Bertone mi sono trovato dentro un altro
progetto e un altro lavoro particolarmente interessante e
anche particolarmente legato al futuro dell’auto però con
l’inspirazione al passato. Devo dire che il mio interesse oggi
è per l’importanza del brand; il brand però arriva con una
macchina molto forte, con un carattere molto forte e ogni
stilista che lavora sul progetto o su una casa madre d’auto
deve cercare di tirare su questa immagine, questa faccia
della macchina. Oggi lavoro per una ditta che svizzera
insieme a un grande stilista e lavoriamo per una macchina
elettrica, perché oggi il problema è che non possiamo girare
più perché ci sono troppe macchine. Dobbiamo fare qualcosa
veramente per cambiare l’auto, non possiamo continuare
solo a ricreare quello che è stato fatto, anche se ci sono
tantissime cose belle sulla macchina storica però la macchina

elements and a very modern style. Today the car is in the
USA and next week will be in Las Vegas, in Los Angeles,
participating in an exhibition.
Now I can talk about my next project. After my experience in
Stile Bertone I found myself in another project and another
very interesting job, which is also very much linked to the
future of cars, but with inspirations drawn from the past.
I have to say that today I am interested in the brand, but
this brand comes with a very strong car, with a very strong
character, and all the stylists working on a project or on a
mother company have to try to increase the value of this
image, improve the looks of the car. At present I am working
for a Swiss company which is working to realise an electric
car, an electric car because today we have the problem of
too many cars on the streets, we must do something to
change cars, we cannot simply recreate the past, even if
vintage cars have so many beautiful aspects, however cars
have to change a little and should be more environmentally
friendly, and this is why I joined this project. This is a car
with a classical inspiration too, but with a totally modern
technique.
In my opinion this is a very beautiful car, as I said, because
it is modern and classic at the same time. From outside you
can see this huge passion, the desire to have a recognisable
look, a pleasing look, to have a front car that reminds of
something; in fact, as we are going to change the car’s
mechanics we would like to maintain something that is
recognisable. Here we maintained specifi c, even classic
proportions, but if you look behind, there are doors instead
of a hatchback this car has two lifting side doors, and those
who know Italian vintage cars know the great Mangusta,
one of my favourites when I was in Ghia. And this is all
made to off er a diff erent car which is not commonplace.
