RECONSTRUCTED STONE INSTALLATION SYSTEM ON exterior THERMAL
INSULATION
DESCRIPTION:
The new construction technologies allow to reduce the large amount of energy consumed
both for heating and summer cooling. The use of today's range of high-performance products
considerably improves living comfort, reduces energy consumption, the consumption of
combustible and therefore lower emissions to the atmosphere and higher respect for the
environment. It’s not always that innovation goes hand in hand with traditional construction
technologies such as decorative facing walls. THERMO SYSTEM is a high security system
that allows to integrate the installation of reconstructed stone with exterior insulation
systems of buildings, such as thermal plasters or thermal insulation systems, both where the
environmental restrictions exist or where traditional coverings similar to natural stone shall
be installed. The Pietre d’Arredo reconstructed stone, besides being a decorative finish, is
extremely lightweight if compared to the natural one and it can o integrate and protect the
thermal insulation systems. The Pietre d’Arredo coverings do not modify the breathability
of the support, while they improve thermal and mechanical resistances, both to blows and
to the atmospheric agents action such as wind or rainfall, preserving the thermal insulation
systems lengthening their lifetime.
USE:
THERMO SYSTEM allows the installation of reconstructed stone coverings onto substrates
such as expanded polystyrene thermal insulation panels, rock wool, cork, and on thermal
insulation plasters composed of lime-cement, cork, perlite, expanded glass, etc. THERMO
SYSTEM is suitable for both new constructions and for renovations to achieve a reduction
in energy consumption.

PREPARATION OF SUPPORT:
In new applications, after having fixed the thermal-insulation panels with the adhesive, (the
spreading of the adhesive onto the whole panel surface is advisable), apply a first layer of
smoothing adhesive for thermal insulation systems such as ISOTHERM F1 by Colmef Srl.
Position ARMOFLEX 330, the reinforcing fiberglass high resistance mesh, and embed it
into fresh coat of ISOTHERM F 1*. Still on fresh, outside of mesh, fix the nylon anchors,
long enough to cross the entire layer of insulating coat and to anchor to the substrate.
The choice of the type of anchor will depend on the nature of the load-bearing structure
(hollow bricks, concrete, etc.) or on the type of insulation system. 8 anchors are needed
for each m 2 .
Apply a second layer of smoothing finish that must completely cover the anchors, to produce
a plane surface suitable to receive the reconstructed stone covering.
