Formé dans les plus grandes institutions artistiques parmi
lesquelles l’Ecole du Louvre, l’artiste travaille essentiellement
la tempera à l’œuf et la technique de l’icône russe telle qu’il l’a
apprise chez les grands maîtres de l’Europe de l’Est et telle qu’il
l’a enseignée aux académies Vera Mukhina et Repine à Saint-
Pétersbourg.
André Sugnaux, imprégné de spiritualité et de musique classique,
aime les sujets religieux, réalisant en ce moment 11 vitraux pour
une chapelle cathare située en Catalogne et travaillant des
thèmes bibliques comme l’Arche de Noé ou le miracle des Noces
de Cana.
Chaque vitrail est un voyage vers l’indicible, nous poussant à
réfléchir et à nous recueillir…
Trained in the most renowned fine arts academies, including the
Ecole du Louvre, the artist mostly works with egg tempera and
the technique of Russian icons that he learned with great Eastern
European masters. The artist also taught these techniques at the
Vera Mukhina and the Saint Petersburg’s fine arts academies.
Impregnated with spirituality and classical music, André Sugnaux
favours religious subjects. He is currently making 11 stained glass
windows for a Cathar chapel in Catalonia, where he works on
biblical tales including as Noah’s Ark or the Miracle of the wedding
feast at Cana.
Each stained window is a journey to the inexpressible, encouraging
us to think and to reflect…
