to obtain a spot in the Swiss Olympic<br />

team. It is always very hard to shopt during a<br />

final, there is a lot of pressure, lots of people<br />

watching, and in Germany the audience is<br />

very “noisy”, – explained the Swiss shooter<br />

– at the beginning, I had less pressure, it<br />

wasn’t working well for me, but at the end<br />

I was really in the competition, feeling the<br />

pressure, which helped.”<br />

The last two Olympic Quota Places went<br />

to the Ukraine’s Natalia Kalnysh (fourth<br />

with 680.5 points) and to Jamie Beyerle, a<br />

50 th <strong>ISSF</strong> World ChampIoNShIp muNICh<br />

top-ranked 26-year old rifle shooter from the<br />

Unites States of America, who placed in fifth<br />

with 679.9 points after an outstanding last<br />

shot of 10.7 points. Beyerle also boosted the<br />

United States of America’s team upon the<br />

highest step of the teams’ podium, shooting<br />

1758 points (a new World Record) along with<br />

her team-mates Amy Sowash and Sandra<br />

Fong. The teams’ Silver went to Germany<br />

with 1757 points, thanks to both medallists<br />

Lechner and Pfeilschifter, and their teammate<br />

Eva Friedel, who defeated the Serbian<br />

team, third with 1754 points.<br />
