team. It is always very hard to shopt during a
final, there is a lot of pressure, lots of people
watching, and in Germany the audience is
very “noisy”, – explained the Swiss shooter
– at the beginning, I had less pressure, it
wasn’t working well for me, but at the end
I was really in the competition, feeling the
pressure, which helped.”
The last two Olympic Quota Places went
to the Ukraine’s Natalia Kalnysh (fourth
with 680.5 points) and to Jamie Beyerle, a
50 th ISSF World ChampIoNShIp muNICh
top-ranked 26-year old rifle shooter from the
Unites States of America, who placed in fifth
with 679.9 points after an outstanding last
shot of 10.7 points. Beyerle also boosted the
United States of America’s team upon the
highest step of the teams’ podium, shooting
1758 points (a new World Record) along with
her team-mates Amy Sowash and Sandra
Fong. The teams’ Silver went to Germany
with 1757 points, thanks to both medallists
Lechner and Pfeilschifter, and their teammate
Eva Friedel, who defeated the Serbian
team, third with 1754 points.
