La RN 5 relie Toamasina et Maroantsetra, à l’est de la grande
île. Pour atteindre Maroantsetra depuis Soanierana Ivongo,
sachez qu’il vous faudra traverser 18 cours d’eau en bac.
Une halte à Mananara Nord s’avère intéressante car cette
ville est réputée pour sa beauté encore sauvage et intacte
donnant à chaque visiteur la possibilité d'entrer directement
en contact avec la nature. Elle détient une végétation
abondante composée de plus de 170 espèces endémiques
et une faune unique. Son massif forestier fait partie des
vestiges de la région contribuant à la beauté du site. Son
peuple vit dans un mode de vie simple et authentique.
La richesse de Mananara Nord réside également dans
ses plantations de fruits. La ville est décorée par le mariage
de couleurs qu’elles donnent. Comme toute région de l’est
de Madagascar, elle est également propice à la plantation
de vanille, de girofle ainsi que de canne à sucre.
The RN 5 main road links Toamasina and Maroantsetra,
in the east of Madagascar. To reach Maroantsetra from
Soanierana Ivongo, you will have to cross 18 stretches
of water, taking various ferries. A stop-over in North
Mananara is an interesting experience, as this town is
reputed for its unspoilt beauty, offering each visitor
direct contact with the natural environment. Its lush
vegetation consists of over 170 endemic species and
unique fauna. Its forest massif is one of the last remaining
in the region, contributing to the beauty of the site. The
inhabitants have a simple and authentic lifestyle.
The wealth of North Mananara also resides in its
fruit plantations and the town is decorated with the
kaleidoscope of colours these reflect. Like all of the
regions in the east of Madagascar, it is also well-suited
to growing vanilla, cloves and sugar-cane.
