Tamillia, a rising star from St Martin known for her exceptional performances on the French version of The Voice Kids, continues to soar, as her career evolves. Recently relocated to the “City of Angels” in the United States, she shares her latest news with us. By Mathias Flodrops Winair - What have you been doing since 2020 when you appeared on the cover of WINAIR Mag #9. Can you retrace your steps? Tamillia - Since 2020, I have been actively involved in the music business. I keep up my presence on social media by sharing remixes of popular songs, as well as lifestyle content, and performing as much as possible. This visibility, especially online, caught the eye of a music label in Los Angeles. The director of the label came to Saint Martin on the day of my 18th birthday to meet me. After getting my high-school diploma via long-distance learning, I signed with the label a few months later. Today, I live in Los Angeles, working on my music, developing my style, and my artistic universe. I can’t wait to share it all with the entire world. Winair - After the first few months in the United States, are you happy living there, since you love your native island so much? T - The decision to move to Los Angeles was motivated by the opportunity provided by the music label. It was a wonderful option to develop my career in an environment where the music industry flourishes, and I am happy to have taken the chance. After my first months of living in the United States, I am pleased with my decision. Los Angeles is very different from what I was used to, but I am adapting little-by-little. There are moments when I realize I am in Los Angeles living my childhood dream. I miss St Martin, but the presence of my mother, who is also my manager, helps me overcome homesickness. 1 Winair - In terms of news, what can you tell us about your new album? T - I am currently working on a few singles to release in 2024. My first single, “Murda”, a mix of Reggae and Pop titles will be 1. Photo credit: www.souleymantitah.com Saint-Martin 2022
