STRATHCLYDE SUPPORTED SCOTRAIL SERVICES
The local rail network in Strathclyde - the largest local
rail network outwith London - is operated by ScotRail
and fînancially supported by Strathclyde Passenger
Transport Executive on behalf of StrathcLyde Régional
Coundl under Section 20 of the 1968 Transport Act. A
condition of this support is that the Executive détermines
timetables and rares pertaining to thèse services. The
following are the principal features of the network.

AU stations are normally "open" - that is, there are no platform barrier ticket checks. Tickets are examined during
the journey on board the train.

DMUs operate with a Driver and a Guard; ail electric services operate under the Strathclyde Manning Agreement
whereby trains can operate with only a Driver. In gênerai, however, trains also hâve an additional member of staff
